Checked my account and payplan have not taken out their payment so the standing order is not set up.
Have received three calls a day from Northern Rock only spoke to them once to inform them of what is happening, the guy was polite but said until they receive confirmation from payplan I should expect calls and letters.
This is the swimming in treacle bit I guess, I hope by July all will be more settled with my creditors0 -
Rustybucket it is so frustrating at the beginning isn't is - as far as Northern Rock go if they call refuse to be drawn into a dialogue/conversation with them just quote you payplan ref no or if you have caller id don't answer the phone to witheld no's. It is like swimming in treacle but we're all heading the right way - just not as fast as we'd like! Hang in there.

Oops, just posted my message on to wrong post. Was wondering why the lack of responses!
Hi everyone, didn't have a chance to log on this weekend - did I miss much?
I am happy to annouce my first payment of £574.73 went out to Payplan today. It should have been a £1000 but bl**dy AMEX had to sell the debt to RMA, who insisted that my debt with them was a special type of debt that couldn't be covered by a DMP. Sounded like a load of bull but Payplan bought it, so now I have to make 4 large payments to RMA - then my debt with them (/AMEX - who knows, who cares?) will be cleared for good! Yeah!!
Anyway, how long does it take between your creditors being contacted by Payplan/CCCS with a Financial Statement and the acceptances rolling in? I do hope all my creditors cooperate. Wish me luck.I'm moving on up now,

Smile, which cinemas do a monthly ticket? I've been looking for something like that for ages but Vue (Warner Bros) don't do one.I'm moving on up now,

Well I have cut up my credit cards. Written to close one of my store accounts (and paid off the £15 balance).
Still waiting for my new current account stuff to come through.
Finally sold my old bureau through the local paper.
Tomorrow I will draft the letters to tell people I'm on a DMP. When my current account is set up, I'll send them out.
Got a loan offer on Friday through the post, from GE who had been ringing me constantly about a missed payment!!! Momentarily started to work out if I could make all minimum payments if I did that, but that's what got me into this mess anyway so need to get on DMP instead - otherwise it will never actually go down.
Have sorted loads of decent clothes (too small) to ebay, as well as some craft bits.
Have checked fixture ferrets to try and get meat/fish when its on offer to save a bit more money. Need to get into the strict budget idea before the DMP starts.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Can I ask you all a questions about cards? Does anyone know whether you can get a VISA debit card (not a Visa Electron) card whilst youre on a DMP? I have noticed recently there are quite a few places that don't take Electron. I don't really want to buy a prepaid Visa/mastercard as I think this is a con (the monthly charges, charges per transaction, etc.). Did anyone manage to get a normal Visa card when they opened up their new bank account?I'm moving on up now,

Morning All
Hi Gemmzie I have sent them a token payment and have worked out a pro rata agreement it would be easier if I could do it by direct debit much easier for me.
I have had two creditors who have agreed to the reduced payments for six months, barclays have ignored my letter even though I sent my card back to them, I am sending another letter and budget sheet to them.
I suppose they just want their money back!! I will have to wait and see, will let you know how I get on. How long have you been doing your dmp.
Thanks for that Gemmzie.
Yellow monkey have sent the cheques but if I could set them up with direct debit would be easier for me I will see how I go.
At least the weather is good!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Sorry if i sound a bit paranoid but I am not getting much comfort from this thread anymore, nobody seems to answer my questions. Which is a bit upsetting because I do answer quite a few whenever I can. It seems like there has been a secret clique which has built up over this thread in a matter of weeks - and I don't belong anymoreI'm moving on up now,

I applied online for a "normal" current account but with no overdraft. They have emailed to say I am accepted but am awaiting paperwork to double check they have not given overdraft or anything. Hoping for a switch card or something for the same reason as you.
I have rubbish credit rating as am "up to the limit of my credit facilities for my income level". My own bank I've been with for 10 years wouldn't increase my overdraft from £250 to £400 even. So was very surprised when they emailed acceptance - must be because I said my wages would go in every month.
Sorry for not replying - at work and so am busy. Nothing personal - honest!!!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi lonely
I understand about the pre payment card I think they are con too.
Sorry I don't have any advice about opening a visa card while on a dmp.
I am never going to touch any form of credit again, mind you my
budget is so tight, the only thing that will come out of this for me is my son
said he will save if he wants things and never have a credit card, I hope he
sticks with that.
Thought I would answer you even though I don't have any advice. Well done
on your good news you must be really pleased. Can't wait till I get some news
from my creditors.
Hope you have a good day :grouphug:
