  • Hi
Just wondering in just over two weeks I will be sending my token payments to the creditors again.
Before I started the dmp I used to pay them with online banking, should I continue paying them with online banking or should I send them cheques, not sure what to do:undecided

I know most of you are with cccs and not doing a diy dmp.

    Have a lovely day.
    Thanks

I'd do it by cheque - because it takes hem to cash them and so is confirmation they have received your letter - they can't turn round and say they've received nothing from you that way. Also, I woul dbe careful of making internet payments once on DMP - make sure you print all confirmation pages! :) Sure you will anyway.

For the first token/payment I'd send a cheque.

  • Hi Sea

I will send them my token payments by cheque then. Just wasn't sure
    what to do.
This will be my second payment to them don't want them to have
an excuse to say they haven't recieved the payment.

Many thanks for that Sea I feel more reassured now.:)
Hope you have a lovely day!
    Take care

    Morning, well afternoon all,

What a lovely day, it does lift your spirits when the sun comes out.

I hope you are all having a good weekend?? I got a letter from john lewis they have accepted me on dmp for six months but not stopping interest. Can I do anything about that??

My dad has had a letter and is now going to get the high rate of attendence allowence, which does not affect me but it does mean I can apply for a dicount in our council tax as his Carer...at last!! Our council tax is 180 a month so any discount is worth having!! (no i don't live in a mansion i live in the royal borough and we have to pay for the Queen!!!).

I can'y apply for Carers benefit as I work for than the stipulated hours, even though i do a very early morning job(and a late afternoon one)!! while he is still in bed so he is not left alone too much during the day.

Hope you are all ok and that Kevster posts soon.

Neith - you don't have to send out any more payments once oyu've sent payments to CCCS. I think the first token payment was just a notice of intent and willingness to pay the debt, while also telling them you're no going to pay like you were!

Valley's Girl- You're on your own DMP, aren't you? So is this money you're sending out just the regular payments now? Same advice though - I'd stick to cheques! When I was paying off OH's debts with DCAs when we first got together, I had a payment card which was good as you could keep the little print outs and pay at the corner shop!!

  • Hi
Neith the reason I am sending tokens payment is because I am doing my own diy dmp. Cccs couldn't help me because I didn't have enough money left over, my circumstances have changed due to me having ill health.

Has Sea has said, once you are onboard with cccs you only pay them once a month and the token payment is just until your account with cccs in up and running.
I am paying £18.00 between 7 creditors this is divided out between them. This will be my second month although I haven't heard from them all, I will still send their payments though.

Sea I will send the cheques to them and maybe they will send me a card or payment book. Thanks for the great advice.

The weather is beautiful today it does lift your spirits.
    Hope the weather stays good.

Hi Valley Girl, I'm doing a DMP too and found that they would only accept the cheque for one month's token payment.

Then they will want a pro-rata payment and a Direct Debit set up to ensure that they get their money. This is the only way they can freeze interest
