Can we have Student Loans on our DMP?

That would take me the rest of my days to pay that bad boy off.

    Good morning everyone.

Sadly we had a setback this morning. First direct phoned me to say they had received CCCS offer but as the loan was in joint names and my dh is not on the DMP he will be liable for missed payments. My heart stopped for a few seconds I can tell you. I got on to CCCS and we have added DH to the DMP now. Had to do a new income and expenditure on the phone and ended up with a deficit this time???? We reduced a few outgoings and added CTC which we forgot and we have come out with the same amount. First direct are now awaiting revised Income and expenditure sheet and will let us know:eek:

I was doing so well. I had just come back from the docs (1st appt since starting Anti-d's) and even had a smile on my face for once!!! Now this has set me back. I feel anxious and panicky. I just want to cry. I know it will be okay but its reminded me how awful this really is. First Direct were really nice about it and even asked if everything was okay and if we were managing our mortgage payments. So here we go - starting over again. I wouldnt mind but I have already made one CCCS payment the other day!!!!

I hope this helps anyone in regards to joint loans and credit cards. Make sure you do a joint DMP!

Winkus (who is also suffering from a bad cold and feeling sorry for herself!!)
    Love to everyone x

OH had this when his ex went on a DMP. The bank chased him for full payment and in the end he agreed payment with the Debt collection. The ex all the time tried to assure him that her DMP wouldn't affect him at all and she couldn't see that they might come after him for the joint loan payments.

Don't worry too much, it will get sorted in the end.

winkus - sorry to hear this! Big hugs to you.

Lonely - you're not the only one like this - interest has stopped on 3 of my accounts, but interest and charges are still piling on the others. Am in denial as I am too sensitive emotionally to cope with thinking about it!!! CCCS sent out the info in the first month after the payment too. I send the letters out before that.

Checked with payroll and have only been paid for part of the work, the other stuff will come at the end of April which really p****ed me off. No need. !!!!!!.

Off to try not to eat chocolate or cry. Silly thing to cry over anywya.

Afternoon all Just on for a wee while just now cos I was checking that these BACS problems hadn't effected tax credits that were due in today. They have gone in so all is well.

    Valley - well done:T :T :T

Winkus - Things will get sorted soon. In the mean time big hugs:grouphug:

Franny - Don't know if student loans can be added as no experience of them but I can't see any reason why they couldn't be. They are debt after all.

Lonely - Don't worry about it. They will all stop in the end. It took BoS 6 months to stop adding interest and charges to 2 accounts of mine. In fact I think I now owe more charges than actual debt on those accounts. If I could just get my finger out and stop procrastinating on here all the time I would get those charges claimed back. Which is what you will be able to do too.

Alfredsmum - I found that the first time I logged on so sent them an email asking if they ever got the sizes I needed in and I got a reply saying they would check the next time they went to their supplier. Sure enough a few days later I got an email from them where they gave me the option to buy two pairs before they even went on the web.

    Hello Sea and Teecee,

Sorry to have set you off! I suppose if you look at the bigger picture, if interest stops once you have "proved" youself, the savings will more than compensate for the few months that were being charged at the higher interest rate. I just have to remember my own advice sometimes!

Secondly, Sea, I'm not sure why you are getting paid like this - but is there a silver lining? If you haven't got all the money at the start of the month, you will be rich at the end of it! It might help you budget better too. If this is not the case, it's still the weekend tomorrow - which means an extra lie in, breakfast in bed, no work, relaxation (all of which are free of charge). Please accept my apologies if you have children, I know parents are always on the go ;)
    I'm moving on up now,
    Out of the darkness,
My life shines on, my life shines on, my life shines on ;)
