I've just started a self-managed DMP having decided not to pusue an IVA.
The ggod guys so far have been Citi Bank; Goldfish; Barclays Master loan (though I am struggling with getting a response from Barcalcard!!) and Capital One who have all been helpful and polite.I made sure my SOA was water-tight and pro-rata'd my offers etc
M & S are quite bizzare as they have refused a pro-rat'd offer of payment but then said pay the amount you offered. Currently refusing to freeze interest so negotiations are to be resumed.
AMEX are palying hard-ball i.e. talking Charging Orders against my home but as I haven't defaulted on any CCJ concerning my account with them (and dont have any CCJ's) I'm not sure they can do this.
Lloyds TSB have so far declined to answer any of the 10 letters I've sent to them.............
Doing a slef-managed DMP has been hard but rewarding, plus my local post-office will probably be able to stay open simply based on my stamp/envelope purchases!!0 -
Afternoon everyone..hope the sun is shining too wherever you are !
Saturday morning, lovely lay-in, leisurely breakfast, kids all behaving and chilled and then the FLIPPING POSTMAN RUINS IT ALL ! ! !
Lloyds sent DH his default notice for his credit card, now all of you who have been with me on this thread from day 1 will know that Lloyds have not being playing ball with Payplan..Hubby called Lloyds and they said yet again "we have nor received your financial statement from Payplan" So then I get on the phone and tell them that this WAS sent 3 times the first being Jan 18th and there was a 4th one sent last week as I called Payplan in tears. As my DH has not been dealing with all the Payplan stuff and does not hear you guys on about your stories, he gets worried sick and thinks that the "Court" mentioned in the letter can have all our belongings away. I see where he is coming from but I just do not knoe how much more of this stress I can take !
Can I get in touch with the Financial Ombudsman about this do you know?
Payplan and us are keeping our part of the bargain and they just keep giving us all this crap !
Gonna go away and cry now

Oh Bluediamond thats awful, don't know how to smilie a big hug but I send you one anyway! I'd be on to Paypal Monday morning and if they ring again just keep quoting your payplan number, maybe ask for a name so payplan can fax the info directly to a specific person (don't know if they can do that). I know my advice won't take the stress and worry away but we're all here for you. Big hugs again. There really is light at the end of our tunnel. Take care.

Hang in there Blue Diamond - ****Sending hugs***
welcome Leixlip1 - i've got a debt with Amex and so far the only thing i've heard from them is a letter saying I should give their collection agency a call to arrange a payment programme with them, which i've not as I'm with CCCS.
Heard from Next again today, they've excepted the payment offer made by cccs but only for 3 months??? guess they think i'm going to win the lottery or something and suddenly have more money in 3 months
Finding this site has been a HUGE lifesaving & life changing thing for me - all because I saw Martin on LK Today one morning!
After my 1st post,
i've gone on to seek help & treatment for depression (which is still ongoing, strating to learn new coping skills and looking to find the core reasons behind some of the problems I've had)
'come clean' about my debts with my DH, family & close friends.
I've even opened up to close work colleagues about the fact that i'm living with a form of depression, which has been a really hard thing to do but helpful.(people just had me as a 'moody sod!
And i'm really starting to get into the DFW mindset. For one of the 1st times in a long, long time, I feel some proper control over my life.
And checking on this thread, even if i've not had the time to post, is a great boost, knowing that others are with you, your not alone.
Thanks everyone :Tsorting my life out, then my debts0 -
Hi All, Hope you've had a good day?
Sally sorry to hear about your day,its just awful!!
Well havent heard anything from any one today, so thats a good thing!
Just wanted to ask a couple questions, I have a £143 debt with Provident which has been passed to Wescot. I had a letter from them the other day, asking for payment, it tryed to contact CCCS but was on hold for soo long and then i was passed from one number to the next i just got fed up and rang Wescot myself, they said i could pay £20 a month to them and i accepted. Should i have done and will this effect everything else??
Secondly if i get a letter saying ive missed payments,do i ring the creditors or not??
Thanks EVeryone x x xPROUND TO BE DELAING WITH MY DEBTS:D
