  • In Debt Again _ we too haev an ongoing thing with HSBC..we had a loan over 7 years taken out three years ago and we were paying £288 per month then about £400 on an overdraft. They wrote and wanted to consolodate this onto Managed Loan to which I said Get Lost!
After loads and loads of calls, they have written to us with a Concessionary letter agreeing to accept reduced montly payment that matches the payplan offer. The reduced payment represents the capital only and no interest. Great BUT the other stuff enclosed says we enclose three copies for a managed loan ??
Payplan cannot advise but say that we should take care when dealing with this stuff.

Anyone got ant ideas..I may post a new thread relating to this I think

    Sally

I'd definately avoid it - looking at what I was sent they matched my dmp payment exactly and when I looked through the paperwork it stated the interest which almost doubled the loan  . My feelings are once they have you on this should you have further difficulties you're left owing them twice what you did originally - should be illegal!! CCCS didn't say no but did say it was not in my interest to go for it and I'll go with them!! They did say my debts would be passed on to Metropolitan.

Hi evryone. Had a really bad day today.
Had a stressful day at work and then top it all off i had a phone call at work at 4.30 from 1st credit,in relation to my Money Shop loan.
I owe them £546 and used to pay £78 a month, obviously i missed last month payment.
The women was awful. wanted me to pay the £78 now, then when i said i couldn't she wanted to set up an arrangment.
When i said i was with CCCS she got even worse and said 'We dont deal wit the CCCS' I then said i would only pay through there arragment.
She then said to me ' You do realise how serious this is don't you and you WILL end up with a CCJ at least, because we don;t accept arragements with CCCS'
I stuck to saying i wouldn't set up an arragment, then she put the phone down! CHARMING!
Did i do the right thing???

THEN when i got home, had a letter from HSBC saying about the managed loan thing!
Glad im not the only one whos had one of these!!

Feel so worried now after the phonecall and just want to cry, i thought that everything was going ok.

    Evening everyone.

We received our first acceptance letters today, from 3 mail order companies that have had their communication from CCCS. Interestingly, their letter mentions 'as long as we receive this payment evey 28 days' so shall be forwarding to CCCS so they can correct them and point out is per calendar month!!! Wonder if that's a trick and they hope we won't notice...

Feels good to have made our first payment today.

Kelly :grouphug: what a day you have had. It's really low ringing people at work. Egg rang me at work one day. I don't even know how they got my number. I reckon I must have phoned them from work one day and they used number recognition and then stored it to my file. I think you did the right thing not allowing them to pressure you. It's odd how so many of you have had the same letter from HSBC. I wonder do they read our thread. :D Hang in there you will be fine.

Newgirl, excellent news for you. Well spotted on the 28 day thing. I probably would have missed that.
  • Hi All

I've had a letter from Next & M+S saying they'll except the offered payment but only if we pay by the dates stated on the statements, no mention of date given by cccs, i think I might drop them an email and ask if I should just be ignoring these or sending them to cccs.
I'm not too worried about phone calls at home, I know I can always leave the handset on the kitchen table and walk away, but I don't know if I can cope having anybody call me at work.
I've only started back to work this week after having 4 weeks off sick, I'll fall to pieces again If they hassle me at work!
sorting my life out, then my debts

Good news for you then BH and the fact Next are playing ball with you gives me hope too. I wish I had some furniture or something to show for what I owe them. The reality was it was on clothes that are no longer around. What an idiot I have been.
  • Odd we've all had the managed loan letters at the same time, hope you're having a better evening 95Kelly - I had a day like yours yesterday what with tax credit and hsbc it felt it was all for nothing. But ho hum we live to fight another day - and we're all on the right road - its just the occasional red light that is a bummer!!

Bloody Hell, i Had the same thing from next, saying they've excepted the offer, but no mention of CCCS so ive just left it,an asumed that they will recieve it from them, let me know what cccs say if you contact them!!
I have to use my mobile all the time to ring them and with it being a 0845 number its no included in my price plan, so it cost me a fortune when im on hold for soo long!! SO only ring if i absoulutly need too!!

    Hello everyone,

Kelly - don't let them reduce you to tears, they seem to get great pleasure from making us all feel like !!!!!!, I had a letter from Barclaycard saying that they would freeze my account until the 20th due to the fact they are aware i'm starting DMP (1st payment yesterday ) you would think that when CCCS inform them that payments are made to creditors on or around the 25th of each month that they would allow for this and freeze account til the 26th!!

It seems to me they just want to make things as intimidating as possible. They know how scared we are and they thrive on it. They think they will make us cave in if they push hard enough.( they obviously don't know me very well !!)

Hang in there, it will get better i'm sure, after all its in their interests to give us the chance to sort it out. At least that way they will eventually get paid!

    lol teecee xx
