Those people at CCCS really are lovely. I almost feel like ringing them today again as they just make me feel better.
The tax credit system is a shambles.0 -
Hi Ex and everyone on at the moment..hope we are all okay today !
Lloyds managed to ruin my day today when we got DH credit card statement and they have wacked £142 interest ontop of the debt that has risen by almost £500 since we stopped paying them in November. And that is after our Payplan payments to them have been made. C R I M I N A L !
They are just a buch of idiots and the sooner they get their backsides into gear and acknowledge Payplan the better.
Right, fell better for that cathartic release !
Ex - How's it all going today..How you feeling ?

They are !!!!!! Blue.
I'm ok today. I'm just so nervous about my mobile ringing. Hellifax have stopped calling and Cahoot, Barclays and Egg haven't called since I first told them about the DMP so that's good.
Are Payplan different to CCCS?0 -

I got £100 back on my car insurance, and roughly get £20 a month from them for general things I buy. HMV do 7% for example so I buy all my birthday/xmas gifts through that,

Ex - Glad you are okay. I really know how you feel about the phone ringing, It gets you so stressed. BUT, answer it..there is nothing you can do once you explain that you are on CCCS, if they call time and time again after you have explained the CCCS thing to them, then don't bother answering the call. You are entitled to write to them saying that all communication should only be via a letter and not phonecalls. Once you have don that and they keep pestering then you can report them. I doubt it will come to that though. It seems that you may have this cracked, I found that as soon as the companies accepted all the calls stopped , except those MORONS at LLOYDS ! !.
Chin Up and stay strong..life is crap sometimes but My God it gets better !

Ex - Forgot to answer your question about CCCS and Payplan
I think that they are pretty much the same in the way that they work. They are both charity organisations and do things legally !
I mentioned before that Payplan have a really great website that I can use to keep track of my payments and whose getting what. Do CCCS have this to, I would imagine they do...
Just wish that after about 5 years on a DMP you get the debt written off..What is that loophole that Debt Free Direct harp on about ?

In Debt Again and Stupid - I'm not sure about the Tax Credit thing but about HSBC, do NOT reply to them about this consolidation loan. They are just trying their luck. Instead, send the letter to the CCCS, and let them deal with it. In the meantime, if they call, just say you do not wish to take out the loan, you have already explained your situation and they can contact CCCS (give ref number) if they need further info. Then end the conversation politely but firmly. It doesn't matter if the loan payments are the same as your CCCS payments - why would you want to double the term of your debt payments?!!
Ex-Spendaholic - CCCS is a charity who do Debt Management and, from September 07, IVAs for free. Payplan, although not a charity, are funded by the creditors - so again they do not charge people like you and me. They do both IVAs, DMP, and loads of other things. The reason that I went with Payplan rather than CCCS is because they seemed more efficient and I had heard much better things about them. Having said that, CCCS get good reviews on this board too. I would suggest going with either.I'm moving on up now,

In Debt Again _ we too haev an ongoing thing with HSBC..we had a loan over 7 years taken out three years ago and we were paying £288 per month then about £400 on an overdraft. They wrote and wanted to consolodate this onto Managed Loan to which I said Get Lost!
After loads and loads of calls, they have written to us with a Concessionary letter agreeing to accept reduced montly payment that matches the payplan offer. The reduced payment represents the capital only and no interest. Great BUT the other stuff enclosed says we enclose three copies for a managed loan ??
Payplan cannot advise but say that we should take care when dealing with this stuff.
Anyone got ant ideas..I may post a new thread relating to this I think
