Give CCCS a ring and discuss things with them again. They will probably tell you that Lloyds will eventually cave in and start accepting. Especially if they start getting the payments from them and nothing else. Everytime they call you just quote your CCCS ref number and refuse to get into a debate with them.

    Afternoon everyone.

Firstly :grouphug: to Kevster. Sorry to hear you are feeling so low. I am going through the same but I can see some light at the end of the tunnel. Just a glimmer but its giving me some hope

I am off in a minute to pay my first instalment to CCCS at the post office. I just hope there isnt a massive queue!!

If I could do it all again I would train as a midwife. Would love to do it now but cant afford it. Maybe its an incentive to get these debts clear!!!!

Had good news today as DH passed a very important test (work related) which means he is another step nearer to competent firefighter salary:j

Right I must get off to the Post office before its school picking up time!!!!

I can see clearly now the rain has gone

8lb lost so far on Slimming World - 18lb to go!!!!!
  • Kevster - we're all here for you. I experienced much the same feelings as you only a couple of months ago. I shamefully have nothing to show for my £30,000 worth of debt and I don't own a house and I'm in this alone (by choice) my dh and family know nothing. You have everything to fight for don't let the b******s get you down - honestly it (the debt) and them (the evil creditors!) are not worth it. Love and hugs to you.
    xx

Well done Winkus on your first payment, it's really liberating!!

    THANKS IDAAS

Any ideas on how long it will be before I receive my welcome pack. (I'M NOT VERY GOOD AT WAITING). Just want everything sorted, NOW, NOW, NOW!

KEVSTER please dont think like this, your life is worth alot more than the stupid banks, they have no feelings no concern for anyone they just want there money. They will get it eventualy, it will just take a bit longer thats all. I know what you mean about the words debt, bills, pay going round in your head. It will get better though listening to the people on this thread that have the experience, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

You have built your house for you and your family and how do you think they would feel if you were not with them. I have been through very difficult times in the past with my house and almost had it reposesed(is that spelt right). thats why i would not want to go bankrupt either I had to fight tooth and nail for my house to put a roof over my childrens heads.

I'm also expecting it to get worse before it gets better, but hang in there and it will be ok in the end.

    hope this helps.

  • Afternoon everyone

Kevster :grouphug: :grouphug:. Please don't be thinking like this. I know it's hard, I've been there not so very long ago. You wake in the morning and you think - Bills, Debts, Charges, Income - All doesn't add up. Then you think phone calls, letters. It's like it's never going away. However I am living proof that it will get easier. Only a few weeks ago I was thinking like you. This thread gave me strength to fight the ********. I have 9 creditors and £27K of debt. I turned the tables on them and harassed them until the accepted the DMP. They are all onboard now and I now see myself as having 1 creditor - CCCS. I pay them once a month, I can login to see what I owe and if I want I can phone them. I know it's a pie in the sky, head in the clouds view of things but it sure as hell helps. Hellifax, Egg and the rest are sitting out on another planet somewhere. They'll get their money eventually but in the meantime they will not grind me down. Stick with us pal, we'll get you through this.

Amani, I never had an official call from CCCS either. It was like DMP accepted online and they sent the stuff for me to sign and the template letters. Have you not got that yet? I'm sure it'll come soon. If not give them a call just in case it's went AWOL. To be honest I like people who don't call.

I know I keep saying this but the delight of not having private number and all those 0870 numbers flashing up on my mobile all day everyday is absolutely priceless.

I just phoned Hellifax. The debit cards expire at the end of April. Traditionally we have always had new ones well in advance. They hadn't come so I got a little paranoid and rang up. The girl said "hold on to I see if there's a problem". I had visions of them taking the opportunity to close the account etc as the words DMP BIG DEBTS flashed up all over her monitor in large font. They say they sent them last week so I can't stop worrying about that now. I suppose the Hellifax make too much money from me in bank charges to get shot of us. I must I must I must reclaim them.

The only time I can recall CCCS phoning is to do an annual review and even then they will send you a letter saying 'we will call on such and such day at whatever time to go over your annual review'

    Very civilised.
