Taped Interview Under Caution
Comments

I've just read this thread. I'm sure the interview under caution is a result of a concerned citizen (or malicious person) calling because they, in their wisdom, think your son is cheating to get his DLA. From what you have said, I'm sure he is not, and has nothing to fear tomorrow. However, I'm glad this has been taken seriously, and that he has legal help with the interview. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
I had to ring the Job Centre to sort out a tax problem the other day - option 3 is now for if you want to report a suspected benefit fraud. I think this sort of waste of time and spoons will reoccur more frequently now they are actively soliciting.
Did you know that legal aid for benefit problems is likely to be withdrawn? The bill is being voted on in Parliament next week, the House of Lords has passed amendments to draw the teeth of this bill, but they may well, as with the Welfare Reform Bill, be overturned on the 'money bill' justification. It does make my blood boil when someone genuinely entitled to DLA gets reported by a misguided individual, whilst those that fake their illnesses seem to avoid the snitchers.
OP, just make sure your son is aware that during the interview they are likely to leave long gaps inbetween questions in the hope he will fill the gap. Tell him to answere the question the remain silent.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thankyou I will pass this on as he would probably try to fill an awkward silence0 -
Nothing to add to this thread but just wanted to wish you & your son well tomorrow. Hope the IUC is short n sweet when they realise you have done nothing wrong.

Yes good luck, the shorter the interview, the better it should be“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

Have followed this thread, will have fingers crossed for your son tomorrow xx"If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

Well interview over, some kind person who works with him has said he walks from his car to the office door without pain and they even provided a short video recording of him walking the 10metres. The ladies who conducted the interview said that he cannot be disabled when he has such a good work record and does not take time off, as if he suffered pain he would need to be on the sick all the time. They have said it will be up to three months before he finds out what they intend to do and that they would be looking at an extremly large amount of money if they decide to claim it back from him. Now I don`t know if this is just to try and scare him thinking that they want vast amounts off him but telling him he cant be disabled because he doesnt take time off work is out of order. I have sent an email to our mp as reccommended by DIAL and Disability Alliance. So I suppose we will have to see what happens next.0

Well he was shocked to say the least as he had statements from two managers at work who have worked with him for years and both know his condition very well and how it affects him, but obviously this person thinks they know more than gp`s and specialists.0
