Well just a quick update, my son has recieved a letter today to say his DLA has been suspended until they sort all this out. I suspect now after the bank holiday we will hear from motability and they will take the car away so, he will really struggle now for work. It is a case of guilty until proven innocent.0

Oh dear, I am very sorry to hear this.0

This is awful and I'm sure they time these letters to coincide with weekends/bank holidays. I feel for your son and I hope this situation is quickly conclude.0

Thankyou both0

Nothing to add except my very best wishes. Have you made an official complaint about them discussing his possible OP and have you heard from your MP?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

The MP did get back to us and he took all the details, he has said they will be intouch with us again soon so, its just waiting to hear from them.0 -
What a horrible time you are having & you have my good wishes for you both. I think i would be horrified if someone snitched on my OH.
My OH 'looks normal' and people quite often others don't realise he is disabled. He mostly doesn't leave the house, but on days when he is feeling up to it he comes to the supermarket with me just to get out. (he doesn't go out alone)
We get snotty looks from oaps when we park in the disabled bay - it's almost like because we are not oaps we have no right to park there. ( he does have a blue badge)
And i've lost count of the number of times a friend will comment on how well he looks & is he feeling better - I want to scream at them - yes he looks well - today is a good day - you only ever see him on a good day - but yesterday he couldn't walk without stopping in agony or falling over (indoors or out) & even on a good day he's hiding the pain behind a smile just to be 'normal'
OH gets DLA high rate & it says on his award that they accept his condition varies, but he is classed by them as unable to walk.
Unforunately in trying to stop the 'shameless' benefit culture genuine claimants now jump through hoops and are wide open to accusations.
Good luck getting your case sorted .x0 -
They can not present anonymous evidence in court, someone would have to make a statement of fact surrounding the filming and that person can be put on the stand and questioned, which is the best thing for them.
The film is evidence in itself. it does not need to be supported by a named individual.
It's not like an anonymous statement. :cool:0 -

This is the same as my son but, when it has come to someone ringing them it appears its different. His condition does vary but, he never walks normally nor is he ever without pain.0 -

exactly - my OH has no treatment other than painkillers as there is nothing they can do for him - often he looks very drunk as he sways side to side alot - he has a neurological problem which means his brain doesn't communicate with his legs constantly.
Mind you when PIP comes in i think as he doesn't use any walking aids ( condition affects his hands so he can't always grip - again it's random) he could lose his mobility anyhows - will have to wait and see0
