I got tomtom 6 working on it as well :j

Does your version of IGO 8 freeze for a while on startup ?

It may be my imagination, but it seemed to take longer the first time I started it up than it does now - but perhaps that was just the suspense of wondering whether it would work or not!
I might give the Tomtom stuff a go.
I wasn't really dissatisfied with the original software, it's just that I wanted to add maps for Europe. Having said that, IGO does seem to have more features, so I'll probably use it for preference.

My 2 vouchers came today for a tv and a Sat Nav as they opened two policies for me by mistake. I went to Argos and asked if I could use the TV voucher and add some cas to get a more expensive Tv So I got a £149.99 tv with DVD player and freeview ready installed. So for £52.00 I got a £149.99 tv and a £70.00 Satnav. I cancelled the DD as they were due on Wednesday and will write to Axa to cancel on Monday. Thanks to OP. A great find

So they gave you the price of the original TV off any TV?
Sounds good as don't know what I would do with such a small TV anyway

Just realised my Sat Nav was a Binatone CARRERA A350 (RRP £120) and not the standard Binatone A350 (RRP £70)!

I'v read all these posts about Sat Navs, Tom Toms and the like and I'm now really pleased I have my my Trafficmaster Sat Nav system. No screen, (there nothing to see to steal) nothing at all visible in the car and clear, concise spoken directions. No downloads, no updates to perform, all done automatically.:j

Ah! but with a display you can change options, adjust the colours, zoom, splash picture, ... so much to play with.

The joy of a Sat Nav is playing with it - nothing to do with getting you from A to B :D

I only need one hand
  • So how long does it take to get one?

I signed-up with AXA at the beginning of May. They told me that I would get the thing after my first payment on 20 June. Its now 1 July and I am still waiting. I have not yet cancelled the DD but am beginning to wonder if I should. Perhaps they have been reading this forum ;o)

Should I wait more or delete the DD now ?

    cheers

why not wait until the last minute before the 20 July debit - then cancel.
I'm sure you'll get the goods any day now.

Received my Argos voucher 2 weeks ago for a Binatone Carrera, just in time for my holiday to Norfolk. What can I say, it is awful, and that's putting it mildly. I think TATNAV would be a better description. Thankfully I had my Lobster mobile with Route 66 installed as a back-up or I'm sure I'd still be wandering aimlessly around Norfolk's B roads. Even simple journeys around my home town are full of misdirections. The unit itself looks good, but the software lets it down, so I can only give it 2 out of 10.
