  • LOL! This challenge is a dangerous game, so busy was I looking for car park kill that a) I nearly got myself run over in a parking space b) I'd managed to leave my handbag in my trolley while intent on finding my fortune! Note to self - get up earlier to search for my millions; always wear a neon jacket and Velcro bag to body - you never know who might be out there ready to apply that finders keepers rule! Oh yeah 1 euro in the pot - it was all we found but it caused great entertainment!

Yes I am an awkward so and so Sue!! It is so expensive in Switzerland (although salaries are higher to compensate) we are fortunate to be able to go to Germany or France for shopping (just 10 minutes in the car from where I am).
Germany is cheaper and I go to Lid* where the quality is excellent for bread and F&V.
We also get our VAT back as we're taking stuff out of the EUropean Union, and that goes straight in my pot!!!

Talk about having the best of both worlds, gien, it must be wonderful to be so close t both countries. I love Germany and would really love to go to Switzerland, Austria too if the chance ever came. Our lad and his Wife loved Switzerland when they went. D'you live there most of the time then?? Jumbo was pretty cheap in Germany.

Your young lass knows she can count on you, Suzanne, bet she enjoyed the sleep you went without too! ;)

Good to hear about the job, Kerry, though you don't sound thrilled about it. By golly you're doing so well with your pot this year!!! Excellent!

Hi rasp and good for you in keeping going well.

I don't know really, it must have been floating around in the ether and just popped into my head! I do like a bit of alliteration though (sp?) - hence Patrick the pot, Veronica the VW, Sally satnav...
OK I admit it, I'm just a bit doolally!

  • I had to bank my sealed pot early for a couple of reasons.
A not too bad £10.97 (including 5p roadkill added en-route to bank) considering that I haven't had much to put in. I calculated that it's a 0.45% contribution to my overdraft butt-kicking project! It was accompanied by a cheque for £75 so that's 3.5% gone!

made £6.50 selling our old Christmas tree (ok we spent £90 on the new one but we're not looking at that bit :shh:) 10p from DH's pocket, 1p off the bedroom floor and a £2 coin plus 52p change from the post office :D dont feel so bad about not potting these last few days.

In my defence I have been very unwell with tummy upset so change collection was a bit difficult from my armchair
