Blimey, I remember polystyrene ceiling tiles and woodchip wallpaper, ma thought it was very chic and trendy! Defo in the 70s, will you take them down and replaster?

Not got a lot to report of late, been doing the usual £1 per day and popping £2 coins in the owls head (had 6 of these) and £4.36 in change for the past week mind you, I have had a number of NSDs!

The german student has settled in ok, I have to keep reminding him to hoover up (his only chore to do). He went into town yesterday and asked if it was ok to be late back said yep fine thinking it would be 11pm.... Noooooo it was 8.30pm bless!!

£1.12 in the pot today. I have put the odd bit of change in but keep forgetting to make a note of how much. Still, all will become clear at the end of November!

No problem, Allpops, half the time we really put a rough idea on, it's incentive for others as much as ourselves.

DS10 has a 3 hour music practice this afternoon (he's playing at Royal Albert Hall in November), so might mooch around looking for the odd coin, just to pass the time of course lol.

Wow, your youngster must be very good at music, mommyof4. Not long to go now, I hope he really enjoys the entire experience.

That's a lovely amount, Kerry. I hope the job's still going well and you're enjoying it.

Keep up the OT, sparky, just the job as we fast approach Christmas.

So you were a year before us, little_sweetie, yes and we had those blessed tiles that came off after a while. Flamin things.

£10 in the pot after shopping.

Hi - I'm not sure exactly but we had them in our house when I was growing up in the 1970s. It wasn't a new house though.
Hi janey, well we had fashionable up to the minute polystyrene ceiling tiles in the early 70's :o We thought they were great until a few years later when they started falling off leaving horrible blobs of adhesive  We were married in 1971 so that might give you a guide. I do hope all goes smoothly for you on the house front x

Thanks everyone, all 5 people I've asked have said 70s so if the tiles date the extension there will be no mundic and we can get a mortgage on it, it is a long way from conclusive proof but it might make me worry a bit less while we wait for the results!

Another 10p in the bottle for me, change from Mr Ts. Hope you have all had a good weekend,

    Janey

I still have woodchip wallpaper  It's too much work to get off so I've painted over it and it collects dust beautifully and scratches arms as they pass on the stairs :rotfl:
Also in a rented house in the early '80s we had those tiles, painted a chequerboard of orange and turquoise  I still have nightmares :D
On topic - potted 4 lovely £2 coins and some shrapnel at the weekend, plus 2p roadkill from DD :T
    Hope everyone's well
