Had a good day I went to GC's Harvest Festival which was really lovely while DH went shopping all on his own and came back with everything:T:T He had a list :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Then I spent the day baking pies and cooking soup to stock up the freezer.

Lots of pennies in the pot which I will open on the 29th of November :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

£1.12 in the pot today. I have put the odd bit of change in but keep forgetting to make a note of how much. Still, all will become clear at the end of November!

morning all *yawn*. Rudely awoken by my 3 cats scrapping on staircase about 2 hours ago and couldn't get back to sleep.

Few pennies potted yesterday. Am a bit skint this weekend so don't anticipate adding anything for a couple of days, unless I see some ever elusive roadkill.

DS10 has a 3 hour music practice this afternoon (he's playing at Royal Albert Hall in November), so might mooch around looking for the odd coin, just to pass the time of course lol.

    Have a great w/e everyone

  • £2.05 being potted today, left from my weekly budget, which didn't go as well as expected this week. But it's better than nothing. Potting has definitely slowed down for me. Looking forward to November. :j

    Have a good weekend all.

    Morning everyone,

Thanks for the congratulations but its not mine yet. Halifax asked for an employer reference despite having my payslips which they now need to make a decision on - don't really understand why - and now the valuer wants a test done to check the extension is mortgageable (a Mundic test for those of you familiar with cornish buildings!). I don't know what to do with myself to be honest, just have to wait.

Trying to stay positive and have started saving for a new car in Feb, my spc money will probably go towards this.

Added a whopping £2.87 last night mostly from my purse, some from oh's wallet!

    Have a good weekend everyone

OK, just doing a little research, the extension has identical tiles upstairs and down so these could give a rough date for its construction and give us a little piece of mind while we wait for the results! So far mum and the internet agree so thought I'd ask you lovely people! What era were polystyrene ceiling tiles most popular or fashionable?

    Thanks guys!

On topic just potted 10p from OH's pocket :)

Hi - I'm not sure exactly but we had them in our house when I was growing up in the 1970s. It wasn't a new house though.

Hi janey, well we had fashionable up to the minute polystyrene ceiling tiles in the early 70's :o We thought they were great until a few years later when they started falling off leaving horrible blobs of adhesive  We were married in 1971 so that might give you a guide. I do hope all goes smoothly for you on the house front x
