  • I have just phoned thorntons because it was bugging me, my order was saying dispatched though not supposed to be delivered until wednesday so I wanted to know what was happening.
They've said if it I've had dispatched email then it has been sent from their warehouse but on a slower service that next day delivery so it will come on wednesday, I said about the the price being different to what I authorised and she said they are not allowed to charge more than what's been authorised.
She mentioned to me that their had been a glitch yesterday and a few early orders have got through and those that have been dispatched are being honoured.
Will just have to wait until wednesday to see if they arrive.

I have still heard nothing, so I assuming I missed out but that's how it goes sometimes you win sometimes lose.

Well done and happy munching to those who got their deliveries.

No, just the confirmation email. CS guy said as my order had been put in while there were problems with the mobile site it was too low a price for two hampers and I had 3 options -
Keep the money as a credit
Add to the amount paid so it covered cost of the hampers
or get a refund and box of chocs.

Went with the last option - some truffles on the way:)

I do think it's good of them to be giving out free boxes of chocs. The offer code that got added to the basket said "2 for £8 fudge and eggs" so giving out free chocs as an apology when people ordered hampers etc is pretty nice of them.

Most shops (e.g. Tesco when they mis-price TVs for £4 etc) just send you a politely worded "nice try but no" email. :)
