It's incorrect. Android do have higher malware

Yes, they are around £500, but they come with 32Gb and with 24-month warranty.
So, is £599+£61=£660 really not expensive compared to £450-£500?

Either you have serious problems with maths or 50%ish difference is not big enough for you.

If you add a 32Gb memory card the difference gets even bigger: £760 V £500-£550.

The prices go down? Fine. Unlike Apple fanboys I will not queue over night to buy it. I can wait for a few months and I don't care about the 2nd hand prices because I am not going to change my handset every 1-2 years.

A lot of people buy the iphone is not because of fanboys, iphones dont go down in price so no point in waiting.

Android apps are bigger, mainly free apps because advertiser try to install program to get the personal information.

The price of around £500 for Galaxy Nexus 16G and Samsung S2 is for 16GB model, same as iPhone. With HTC and Samsung you also pay more for colour.

If you want to go on about fanboy than not one Android user have said anything negative about their phone, so must be Android fanboys

To me I wanted a technically FREE (no upfront cost) phone via my monthly contract upgrade + around £20 per month tariff. I took the Samsung S2 free (now updated to Ice Cream Sandwich) @ £21.50 month. (including 500mb)

If an iphone 4 or 4S would have been on the same deal then maybe that might have been my choice.

The S2 is a fine operating phone. I have a anti-virus and am just careful what apps I download. I've had some top ad-free games including HD ones for free so why would I want an iphone for more cost?

Because “...if you don’t have an iPhone, well, you don’t have an iPhone”?

A lot more buy none iphones, not because they are anti iphone, just that they have other reasons not to buy one.

I did say that fanboys queue overnight.
I have never said that iPhones get sold only to the people who queue overnight.
Yet another flaw in your logic.

I don't get an orgasm when an iphone is mentioned like others do and I certainly would never queue for days for one!!!

It's only a frecking phone, why do people get so orgasmic!!!! ???

** Cost is number one and practicality is a close 2nd.

I don't care what badge my phone has on it (or what other have) as long as it meets **
  • Proud Iphone 3GS owner here who hankers after an Ipad2 or 3?.
Don't mean Apple can exploit me and get away with it and that the above is done as cheaply as possible with great customer service.

The price of iPhone is not expensive than high end Android phones when purchased sim free
The Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy II when relesed were around £500.
Sony Xperia S is around £420 to £450
HTC One X is going to have the start price of £500.
Whey do HTC and Samsung need to have higher price for som colours than others, its the same phone? Some are over £50 more.

The iphone 4S at £500 hold its price where other phones start to go down in price over a few months from the relese. This might be the reason wehy 2nd prices are cheaper for other phones.

No idea if these are correct prices or comparing like for like. What I do know is that I can get the Android experience from about £60 upwards. What's my entry price for a new Iphone?

And the world has gone mad when people are happy to pay £600 for a smartphone when a decent lap top is £200 cheaper! £600 for a phone???????????????
  • Personally I've got devices with all three phone operating systems that will be players in the future (iOS, Android and WP7) and they all have strengths and weaknesses.

The main reason I didn't buy a new iPhone is the limited feature-set and dated interface. I like Android because of the way you can change any of the defaults, and the integration with Google products beats anything available on iOS. I love the fresh new interface on my WP7 but it sufferers from similar restrictions as the iPhone which sometimes drives me mad (especially the fact that bing integration is hard coded into the phone).

At the end of the day you pay your money and make your choice, but people should be making an informed choice and not just buying an iPhone because it's a status symbol or fashionable :)
