No. They are investing thousands in training each person.

Pera training is predominantly government funded

To be fair, it appears to be predominantly labour which was bought in to backfill and facilitate the movement of existing workers due to the new models and buildings, although the article mentions XK which finished months ago?!

Most of these are on short contracts (working with a bloke the other week with a 4 week contract) who haven't been through the Pera process.

    Good luck to all involved.

Some of the interviews in the media are manpower guys who are apparently weeks away from STC though. Depends on who and what you believe I guess

I'm just going by the blokes I've been working with for the last few weeks.

They have been told that they will be let go between May and October on a first in last out basis.

Don't know how it will effect those few who started last year before the new 5 year Manpower clause came in and reach the 1 year with Manpower before that. Even with those I don't know any who have done Pera, which was the gist of my post in reply to your and bbex's exchange.

No one who I know who has started in the last 6 months(ish) at CB has done Pera. (Actually one bloke, who has been there a go od few months, was sent down a few weeks ago to do it, but came back as it had been cancelled.)

I assume it's because they are just on temporary contracts with limited scope for getting onto a JLR STC.

As of Jan 1st this year there is no STC for new starters at soihull, just 5 years with manpower yet they still have to do pera. Strange

Every new starter that comes on track in FA2 on manpower does pera as far as I have been told. Never spoke to one that hasn't
