Yes. Simple answer really.. If you work mornings on the weekend (sat/sunday both) 12 hour shifts you earn more on them two days than in the week! You do the math. You do you bit and your wages will show! I've just finished my first week of PERA and I won't lie it's a little boring. But if your on the 2-10pm shift you get £13.18ph!!

Depends where you get placed and you only get the weekend O/T if it's your turn (morning shift) or if no one on other shift wants it.

    Howdy ^^

Had my manual assessment at Castle Vale skills centre on 23rd of February, and received email next day saying that I passed, and I will be contacted about next step (interview i assume), however due to high volume of applicants it may take time. I think i should call Manpower maybe to remind them of myself ( dont know what number should i call) but if I do get to the interview, any tips considering a dress code? :)

    Thanks

p.s. Im moving to Birmingham/Solihull this wednesday ^^

I'd maybe half agree. The maths is right yes, but in 6 months I've never been nor have my work group been offered overtime like that. In fact, I've not done an hours overtime since early December, the few times it's been offered so far this year it's been cancelled last minute

Overtime on Sat/Sun is limited to 5 hours per shift in our area. Not sure whether that is company wide or not.

I have just completed my first week in the bodyshop and got offered and accepted overtime 2 of the 5 days.

Each department has a requested set amount of hours for overtime dependent on the need. Some departments have a massive demand for it - for example: those involved in getting the vehicle to a sellable condition beyond the main production lines such as rectification areas and inspection lines tend to run 7 days a week.

Guys/Girls - I wouldn't worry about overtime, especially when your pay goes up as follows:

    After 1 year - 10% + annual rise (80%)
    After 2 years- 10% + annual rise (90%)
    After 3 years- 2.5% + annual rise (92.5%)
    After 4 years- 2.5% + annual rise (95%)
After 5 years- 5% + annual rise (100% - plus night shift premium rises from 22.5% to 33%)

The key is to find a balance between work and home life. Spending time with your family, friends and those you love. Too often people run themselves ragged and lose sight of why they even come into to work or for whom. A brand new ipad or iphone is no comparison to the gift of your time.

    : )
