Don't suppose anyone knows when we have too start wearing our steel toe caps? I'm assuming we don't have too while we are in PERA training but I know we have too wear the uniform..
You have to wear them from day one. The pera training is meant to acclimatise you to the rules and regulations of working at JLR0 -
I got the Pera training on Tuesday. Been given a sheet about Corporal Punishment.
What does this involve? Will I have to do a test, is this a discussion, will they ask random people questions? My English reading and writing is not that great so i am abit worried.
You will have a level one maths exam and 2 English exams in the first week and a shed load of quizdoms in the second week plus a simulated production line run. None of it is particularly hard0 -

There is lots of writing, but, the exams are all done on computer and the quizdoms are multiple choice and you have a little wireless remote to answer them.
Most of the writing is for your own benefit and all the answers you have to write in your pera book, you're pretty much given anyway.
The pera training part of your JLR career is like a holiday compared to the track. Try to enjoy getting paid for being sat on your backside not doing a lot cause once your down in the workplace on the track etc you'll miss it0 -

Oh yeah, almost forgot, the corporal punishment bit, is one of 2 discussions you'll have. You'll do a formal one and an informal one, they are both exactly the same, you'll get split into groups of four or five, and you'll discuss between you your opinions on corporal punishment and your pera trainer will record it on a dictaphone, honestly there is nothing to it, the hard part is trying not to laugh and that includes your trainer0 -
Thanks guys. Great help.0
