  • The bus for new starters picks you up on the side of the road just after you come off the third exit (right turn) on the roundabout that you get when you come into the car park. It takes you to manpower office on first day and subsequently on all future days on your training takes you to the bit where you do your training so wouldn't worry about getting lost

NCFC i only just realised you had started after getting same email as me on 29th and same start dates 24th.

Are you in the am group or the PM pera group?
  • Am group mate, yourself?
  • hi everyone, has anyone had a voicemail left for them if they cant get in touch with you? i have a feeling ive missed there call a few times as my signal is rubbish where i am working at the moment, i passed my interview on the 28th jan and still havnt heard anything, any help would be much appreciated, thanks
  • It’s pretty pathetic how they expect everyone to find their way to the right area when the PERA training starts. It’s already daunting as it is lol. This is an excerpt from my confirmation email ‘You will also need to bring this confirmation email with you and proof of ID, i.e. driving licence or passport. If you do not bring your email, security will not allow you on the bus’. Based on that I think it’s important to have the confirmation email at hand and a form ID.

Depending on what time you are due to start, you need to be at the bus top half an hour before. From the bus stop it should be relatively easy as according to the email Manpower reps will be at hand to take you the rest of the way.

If you Don't get the email in the next few days call 01217004206 and they will help you out.

Unfortunately, things like this they just expect you to be psychic and it happens a lot, and then their argument when you get it wrong is well the people who got here managed to figure it out, why couldn't you? I even overheard one guy being told 30000 people applied for your job, you are meant to be the cream of the crop, if you can't figure it out we will get someone else who can. You learn to roll with it after a bit

Exactly what this guy said is where the new starters and Pera get picked up. Be there early, don't miss that bus and once you've got your pass DONT forget it! It's a ball ache if you miss the pera bus or forget your pass, I never did but a couple of guys I my training did and one of them had to drive all the way home to fetch it. They don't let you forget you made a mistake after
  • Don't suppose anyone knows when we have too start wearing our steel toe caps? I'm assuming we don't have too while we are in PERA training but I know we have too wear the uniform..

You have to wear them all the time including when training

I'm in the PM groups mate. Hope all is well.
  • I got the Pera training on Tuesday. Been given a sheet about Corporal Punishment.

What does this involve? Will I have to do a test, is this a discussion, will they ask random people questions? My English reading and writing is not that great so i am abit worried.
