• Hi,

Can anyone tell me if they had their interview in the last week of January and have had a call about getting a job? Interview was at Castle Vale.

I received the "passed all stages" email on the 30th Jan but have not heard anything since. The suspense is killing me... :undecided

Thanks

I got my email on the 29th of Jan and I'm yet to hear anything. Just want to start now!

Any idea how long it normal takes for them to get back to you? Had my interview 2nd of February got the email the next day saying all stages have been complete. Got a call last Wednesday from manpower asking for details that I missed out on accident hopefully that's a good thing there interested. My mate took 2 weeks to hear back from his interview and starts 3rd March
• I had my interview on the 22nd of January and got the all stages passed the day after. I just wanna start already. This waiting is killing me. Anyone around that time got a start date yet?
• Think you were lucky there, they turned someone away from the interviews when I was there for being too casually dressed.

Is it worth the risk?

2nd poster is right, you were lucky, you're not allowed to wear any metal near the cars, and jeans usually have metal rivets in. When you work at JLR you can't wear jewelry etc including wedding rings without taping them up. They even make you do that during the classroom pera training
• For those asking regarding interview-starting i think its hit and miss but i passed my interview on 28th Jan. Start training next Tuesday the 24th Feb.

Today i had my pre-employment induction (photo taken for ID, measured for uniform etc).

I had my interview on the 28th Jan and was given a start date 7 days later, similar situation with my mate who also got a start date 7 days after his interview - he’s interview was on 2nd Feb (his brother was also given a start date the same day, he had his interview around the same time as him).

It seems Manpower approaches the entire process with some form and sense of randomness, as I personally felt my assessments went ‘ok’. It wouldn’t surprise me if Manpower were employing the use of a spinning wheel to select which candidates are given a start date

Yeah it just seems hit and miss. I'm just getting a little annoyed as I'm just sat waiting really. Might give thrm a ring tomorrow to see what's going on but I'm not getting my hopes up about getting a reply.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Im sure JLR make the hiring decisions?

I spoke to Manpower Solihull today and it's done on a scoring system, the higher your score the sooner they will call you. It's just a waiting game I guess.

JLR provide the contracts and Manpower provides the candidates. New starters for the roles many of us have applied for are employed by Manpower before we’re ever employed by JLR. So I’d assume Manpower dictates which candidates receive those contracts that JLR give, as Manpower would typically be held responsible for these candidates – at least until they get contracts from JLR themselves, which apparently is after 5 years of employment through Manpower now :(
