I live 15 mins away from JLR but it has taken me 3 hours to get home on a few occasions. Not only are manpower forced to park there, but DHL, voith, drax are all there too. To get on a bus you need to arrive an hour before your shift starts otherwise it's just carnage trying to get on one. Worse still is when you're on nights, you're trying to get back to and out of the car park, 2 lanes in and 2 lanes out and all the day shift are trying to get in, there are thousands of us trying to get in and out and with more new starters and no sign of being able to use the JLR multi stories anywhere in the future the airport car parking and bus crap is the one thing that could make me quit. You feel like you're being herded in and out like cattle
I also have been at Solihull plant for 6 months now mate! I also live 15 mins away. I always get my missis to drop me at Damson lane gate when im on mornings and afternoons, and she picks me up at end of shift. I only use the airport parking when im on nightshift, and its never been any more than 20 mins before im on my sofa with a cup of tea!! Saying that, tomorrow night is gonna be my first time using it since JLR have forced all contractors to use this service.. Cant wait!!! lol..0 -
Hi, any people from wolverhampton? Just wondering what shift patterns are like. I believe the pay is less than solihull/castle bromwich site?
Cheers

Hi does anyone know the difference in the hourly rates of pay at the solihull/castle brom branches? Someone told me that workers at the solihull site get paid less per hour then at castle brom.
Thanks0 -

Judging from your user name I would have assumed you would use a bike and park on site0 -
16.21 and I've just got to my car, 51 mins after I finished my shift. If anyone thinks that's acceptable then I sadly disagree0
