Does anyone know how JLR can make you have a 10 minute break, and a 12 minute break, when HSE clearly states that all workers are legally entitled to-
Rest breaks at work
A worker is entitled to an 'uninterrupted' break of 20 minutes when daily working time is more than six hours. It should be a break in working time and should not be taken either at the start, or at the end, of a working day.

I believe they give you 3.5 minutes for every hour worked.
If you want to take it up with them feel free. Your paid well enough and it's not gonna change mate. Try working 9 3/4 hours with 32 minutes worth of breaks lol.0 -

I have a feeling you may be right there, after coming from a different career, with almost identical pay, and slightly better overtime rates, I may regret taking a leap of faith with JLR.

Hi guys, have got a manual assessment at Castle Vale on Friday 12th September. Can any one tell me exactly what to expect?
Thanks0 -

RE breaks, ask your shop steward, he should be able to answer. I would be surprised if a company this size with such a large union presence would be systematically breaking the law.
RE pay etc, think long term. If you make it through the first two years and get your full time contract, you will have had a pay rise of over 20%, plus the normal negotiated pay rises in November.0 -

As you can imagine we have a high volume of candidates at this stage therefore we will be looking at your overall achievement scores & throughout the process & will contact you to inform you if you have been succesful in securing a position.all offers are subject to necessary checks.

Positive response, it means he didn't fail the interview and that he will be offered a position at some point. I got a call the same day when I got that email so to be honest it's all luck as some people are still waiting.
I'm not sure on the situation with halewood as I'm sure they've just taken on new starters, then again there is always people dropping out.0 -

Hi - having trouble finding suitable safety boots in stores.
A few pairs I have found have non metal eyelets upto the ankle bit and then 1 or 2 metal eyelets at top, these eyelets would be covered by trousers, would this be acceptable?
Thanks in advance0
