Thanks in advance0 -

if it helps i know people that waited longer than 8 weeks but my wife got her start date 6 days after her interview, she starts PERA on 9/9/14,we always say it is better not to hear anything within the first 5 days after interview because it is a positive sign,it really is down to the manpower placement team,i can say for sure that your hubby was successful hence the delay,if he had been unsuccessful he would have gotten an email by now saying "they will not be proceeding further with the application blah blah blah ......"so just wait and be optimistic.
here's wishing you the best.
Its not down to the "manpower placement team" its all down to when and where Jaguar or land Rover want to get more staff in its as simple as that0 -
Hi guys,
I have a dilemma and any views would be most appreciated.
I have a start date for solihull on 30th September, my concern is that I will be leaving a decent paid job I already have, that I no longer enjoy to work for a agency for 12 months who may or may not make the position permanent.
Has anyone heard any rumours regarding new starters in September.
Would just like to know my chances of getting a full time position.
Thanks in advance guys0 -
Thanks for replying, I'm not sure if ill be on days or shifts at the moment, a little concerned that some people are being told they are on 8 week contract.
Hi. I started last week at solihull and have not heard an 8 week contract mentioned! If you start with Manpower it's a 12 month contract. After that, if you worked as asked and have not missed any days, you will be offered a full time contract with JLR. Hope this helps.:)0 -

Hi
Thanks for your advice, I've been over the moon since I got my start date but then reading on here there is a lot of worrying stuff about lay offs/short contracts etc.
I have my re employment on the 10th then I start on 16th of this month.
Does the parking at airport apply for motorbikes as well?
Thanks0 -

as long as you put the effort in, show willing, turn up on time, no days off. JLR should offer you a STC (short term contract) after 12 months and you money will increase from 70%-80%
do a year on your stc and you be offered a permanent full time contract. and your money will go up to 90%0 -
Does anyone know how JLR can make you have a 10 minute break, and a 12 minute break, when HSE clearly states that all workers are legally entitled to-
Rest breaks at work
A worker is entitled to an 'uninterrupted' break of 20 minutes when daily working time is more than six hours. It should be a break in working time and should not be taken either at the start, or at the end, of a working day.
