Hi - having trouble finding suitable safety boots in stores.
A few pairs I have found have non metal eyelets upto the ankle bit and then 1 or 2 metal eyelets at top, these eyelets would be covered by trousers, would this be acceptable?

    Thanks in advance

eBay mate, plenty on there with no metal at all

Pre employment - try work wear for size, occupational health visit for standard check up, picture for ID card, forms ready for PERA.

PERA - week 1 - going through book and having discussions, all workbook based

Week 2 - 50% workbook, tests on workbook and 50% making mini bikes which is good fun

You will find out your area on the Wednesday / Thursday week 2.

    Hope this helps 😄
  • Hello everybody,

I took my manual assessment Wednesday evening for a position at Solihull.

I received an email this afternoon saying...
Thank you for attending the manual assessment to work with Manpower at Jaguar Land Rover West Midlands.

''You have successfully completed this part of the process.

We will be reviewing all applicants at this stage and will be in touch to confirm if you have been selected for the next level of recruitment."

What does this mean? Through to the next stage or....
  • Had my assesment yesterday and I failed, got the email today. I made the most stupidest mistake during the brake assesmbly which ate up all the time. Basically whilst assembling the break pedal I idiotically placed some of the bolts the wrong way around. Im no expert at DIY but i was so angry at myself when i realised.

One thing I would like to ask others who have done the assessment in the past is were both the magnet and assembly assessment done at the same time or one after the other. I was under the impression that i would do one first and then to do the other? Mine was both together and 8 minutes in total and the time literally flew by.

Sorry to hear that mate, I did my test in June and it was the same, 8 mins to do the brake bit, magnet and then something else in the end.

I have heard that people can re apply after a few months, not sure how long but might be worth asking
