  • Done my online assesment & got a call for my practical this Thursday. Is the online test the same one we did when we got accepted & are they timed still? Well done to everyone who has got through to the next stage.

Ninth Anniversary 10 Posts Combo Breaker
I obviously failed on the brake assembly, after I had put the servo onto the jig from the back with the 4 threaded bolts and center pin I then attempted to offer up the brake pedal as shown by the assessor earlier,

The trouble i had and i was pi**ing around with it for ages which slowed me right down was that i could not align the brake pedal fixing holes to the servo unit, I eventually found out that all i needed to do was to lift the servo up and keep it central and firm in the jig as the wait of it was causing it to hang making those threaded bolts to be out of position.
Unfortunately for me it slowed me down and thus never completed the assembly (got the panics)

Im sure if i was to attempt it again id do it ok but unfortunately you only get the once and those 8 minutes goes way to fast and you cant re-apply till another 4 months with manpower.

But they must only pass you onto the next stage if you pass all the tests not just the magnets and online tests i guess.

Would be interested to know what others thought of the brake assembly, they must be seeing 100 people aday, so wonder how many actually pass.
