Ive also got a assessment on Tuesday morning after applying on Friday, got the phone call on the very same day again which was surprising. I hear they test you on 2 practical assessments against time. Can anyone share some light on these? I'm so desperate to get this job.. unemployment is killing me! But i think its great for the local area that jaguar is giving opportunities. :)

Im in exactly the same boat as you guys. Completed the online assessment on friday and got a call back asking me to come in on Tuesday morning. I'm feeling a little bit nervy to say the least!! The main thing is for us all to stay calm and positive!! Fingers crossed we'll all be okay!

    Good luck all.
  • I got my assessment on Wednesday at the Castle Bromwich site. Can someone give in site into the assessment what you have to do?? Easy or hard?

    Thanks

like i said i have been told by a few people who have done it that its nothing to worry about but they wasn't more specific i think they would have said something if it was more difficult i gather its an assembly test which makes sense and a bit more online assessment which i find strange but as cloaker said good luck to everybody and i hope the outcome is a good one tomorrow i will try to let people know whats involved

Good luck for your test, let us know how it went.

    Guys,

Did my online assesments last wednesday and had a phone call last last friday to attend the assesments at Jag castle brom on monday 30/07/12.

Anyway got to jag yesterday and was expecting the assesment to be the clutch assembly which i did at solihul but it was a brake box assembly and seemed more difficult to me, you only get 8 minutes and sadly i never completed it, maybe if i was a mechanic i would have done it.

Then it was the magnets test i.e place magnets in there location and then remove in the same order.
I.e black/blue black/blue/green and then repeated again making 4 times.

Then we had to sit the online assessments again, not the same questions but similar obviously to rule out cheaters, you need to login to the CareerHarmony System with your username/password when you first registered.

I know i failed the brake assembly but think i passed the magnets and online assesments but had a rejection email this morning a day after stating.
Thank you for attending the manual assessment to work for Manpower at Jaguar Land Rover Castle Bromwich. We really appreciate the time you have put into your application.

Unfortunately on this occasion we are unable to progress your application further.
Now what stinks is that i worked at rover down at longbridge for 15 years until it went down and so have all that experience.
I did 15 years in the paint operations from seam sealing to spraying to polishing and paint rectification but it just comes down to if you pass the test or not regardless of experience.

Oh well back to looking for telecoms/computer jobs i guess.
