hi , ive just had the pay rates for new starters in january 2013

    days -£10.45 , mornings/afternoons £12.19
nites -£13.93 OT rate depends on the day you work and the £30 pw attendance allowance after 13 weeks ,hope it helps
  • i did the tests and although i did the magnet one well and the online test well, i managed to complete less than half of the brake test. i was nervous and really struggled. have i blown it?
  • possibly i mean thats what the tests are for, see if you are competant enough, but you never know

    fingers crossed!

You get an allowance (not sure if right word) of half a day for every week you work. So for example if you have been there for 10 weeks, you will get 5 days holiday pay. we are off for 7 days now, so you will get 5 days pay, then 2 days without pay as you haven't been there enough to build up the holiday.
  • Hi all, thanks for the useful info/advice that has been posted its all helped me get to the interview stage. Could anyone please tell me if you are asked or told what shift you will be on once successful. I did state on the application that I can only do nights.
    Thanks in advance
  • tbh I will be amazed if you get the start as the areas on nights are few and many existing workers want more nights also I have heard we in e block are ditching nights and going to double days
  • isdnjonny - thanks for the reply.
  • Hi my Son has his interview tomorrow after already passing the initial online assessment and then the manual assessment. Can anyone please let me know what questions he maybe asked to give him a bit of a heads up. Thanks in advance
