It all depends on risk. JLR are very much a company on the up and will be for a while yet. They are very strict on lateness/sick days.
It's a great place to work and I really can't see myself leaving in the foreseeable. The work is hard and you do go home aching for the first couple of weeks but if you're a grafter then you'll have no problem getting on with it.0 -
Hi everyone, I had my interview this Monday (3rd) and got the email about successfully completing all stages on Wednesday so now just waiting to hear back. I was told on the day that I would be contacted within 7 days if successful or not.
I had a text today though of manpower regarding opportunities at jaguar land rover! :$0 -

I think (quick calculation) that the pay for new starters in Jan will be approx £10.45 for days. Shift allowance will obviously depend on which shift pattern but ranges upto 33% for nights. And after 12 weeks you get an attendance bonus of just under £30 pw (don't know if this will be the same rate in new year but think so).
Holiday pay is accrued as you work and when there is a shut down you can specify how much of your accrued holiday pay to take for that shut down. I think you have all bank holidays off.
Only you can decide if it is worth handing in your notice at your present job, but I personally think that the Jag is on the up and as secure as any job out there.0 -

Hi There ,
I passed all my assessments and interview nearly 3 months ago and i finished the magnet test in all procedures ok and did the brake building test completely in just over 5 minutes and the interview went great .I phoned up a lady at manpower last week and said they are recruiting after christmas and i wil go on the" hot list" ,I have no idea as to how the recruitment process works as there are people on here who have started a few weeks after their confirmation email and others who have started months after??,
Can anyone shed any light on how the recruitment process works ?0 -
