I've just went with Autoaid - £39 for comprehensive insurance? Can't whack it"...and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make".0

Do the RAC / AA treat members via bank accounts / insurance any different?
Looking at a new car insurance policy with more than and they offer RAC cover for £17 (roadside) / £20 (Roadside/home) / £25 (roadside/recovery/Europe) and £30 (roadside/home/recovery/Europe)
Anyone know if I would get treated the same by the RAC or if you get put to the end of the list.0 -
Hi i would like some advice on European Breakdown cover as its not the price thats important but the service should the unexpected happen, i have a 7yr old car which has low milage for the year and i have driven to poland 6 times in the last 7 years and always had cover with my insurance company but this year they said it was not an option and as my wife is pregnant and we have a young child aswell i am not so worried about the cost but the effectiveness of the provider and to be honest im confused as most dont really go into detail about the cover and how it works and just refer you to the policy booklet.
does anyone have any personal experience of good service when something does go wrong in europe
many thanks for reading

Over the past 13 months, the AA have sent me three pieces of mail by post:
1. A very decent 'rejoining' offer as I had previously switched away from the AA.
2. Some Boots vouchers which were part of my reward for rejoining the AA.
3. A renewal letter telling me that, unless I objected, they'd be helping themselves to money out of my account to the tune of 33% more than I paid last year.
No prizes for guessing which was the only one of the three to actually make it through my letterbox.
Strange, no........?
In fairness though, they did agree to cancel my membership and refund in full so I can shop around for the best deal. Not exactly what I had planned for Easter weekend, but hey ho...........0 -
Does anyone have any comments on the promotion the RAC are currently running for £50 of fuel?

If I take it into account, my quote for Personal Roadside and Recovery cover comes down from £79.99 to £29.99.
Seems too good to be true. What's the catch?0 -
I have just sorted all our finances out and found my husband has been paying for Greenflag for the 2 cars for years when in fact he gets this free with his Natwest Adv Gold Account?
Can he reclaim all this back as surely Greenflag should know he is already covered with them, as the Natwest website said all we have to do if we breakdown is ring up Greenflag & give our name and address & they will know we are covered by the Adv Gold Account.0 -

I'm usually someone who just renews each year without changing or questioning. Well this year after reading this site, and receiving my AA renewal notice, I decided to do a challenge. The renewal price was £58.24 and after speaking to the AA they offered the same package for £34. A nice quick saving.0

I got the UK cover for £35 when my OHs car insurance was renewed because it was much cheaper than anything the insurers could offer.
Had to call them today to recover the car because of a broken spring and thought I would leave some feedback because I think they're relatively new / unheard of.
When I called the first time they had the wrong car details from the online broker who sold the policy but the operator called the broker to confirm the details then called me back.
They wouldn't arrange the recovery of the vehicle until I had booked into a garage for repair. I didn't know any garages locally so I was going to ask the recovery operator to suggest one, but the call centre operator said they wouldn't do that because of the liability to me if the work done by the garage wasn't good.
So I spent half hour on the internet searching and phoning round garages to get it booked in, then called the 2gether breakdown people back.
Once that was sorted the company they'd contracted to recover the car were here quickly and the car towed to the garage without problem.
So the service worked well this time.. though I am a bit concerned if the breakdown happened at the weekend or during the night and I couldn't get booked in at a garage, what would have happened then?
Having said that I would be happy to buy their service for my car when it becomes due next month.DFBX2016 #024

We are currently with the AA.
DH and I have a car each, he has a large van for work (SE) and we occasionally tow a large caravan.
The AA cover all these but seem to be getting more expensive and so have been looking at other providers. (I do haggle the price down each renewal).
Autoaid looked good, but their underwriters won't cover the van.
Can anyone recommend me a provider that will cover the above?0
