Too good to be true?0 -
it is so hard trying to get cover for a car that is 16 years old... its a good little car, it's got a full MOT.. I usually go with 'rescue my car' but they wont cover it now because of it's age..
I have looked at lots of sites but loads of them wont cover me..... getting frustrated now.....:(0 -
Avoid this company like the plague. They tried to refuse me cover on 2 occasions - on the first they eventually relented on the proviso that I send them evidence of the repair by fax.
On the second, they told me that I had cancelled my policy and refused to provide me cover. I insisted that I hadn't but they wouldn't listen. Then when they listened to the call during which I had apparently cancelled my cover the following Monday, they rang back to apologise as it was clear from the call that I hadn't cancelled my cover. A bit late by then, as I was no longer on the side of the motorway...
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Dealing with these guys is more stressful then being broken down!0 -
Been with Autoaid for the past year. Generally good - although perhaps not as good at fixing at the roadside as the AA / RAC etc. Paid out my claims both times. But they only cover small trailers under 10ft, motorhomes under 2.5t and under 2500cc. So they've written to inform me that they can't offer cover this year as our trailer is larger than that. Both times they've honoured the agreement and paid out, so would recommend. Just a shame we can't keep using them!0

Looked at buying cover with QDOS but max vehicle age is 16 years. Back to the AA / RAC it is0

When after the spiel I said I still wanted to leave he offered me Roadside one year one call out for £15 which I happily accepted as my car is only 3 years old and this is back up plan only
Just a heads up for anyone renewing, I just received my AA renewal and it was £129! They offered me £80 after phoning them which I still rejected, and then they offered me this "One year one call out" deal for free, which I decided to take.
Couple this with Autoaid just in case your car needs full recovery to a garage of your choice (rather than one local to where you have broken down), and it looks like a cracking deal for £39.0 -
I just received my RAC renewal notice - which is 123 pounds for the year (Roadside, Recover and At Home). I can seemingly get the same thing from the AA - for one vehicle - for 34 quid - quote via the quidco site and this doesn't count cashback.
The only thing that I noticed was that my RAC card also has 'Accident Care' on it - which presumably means recovery after an accident - does anyoen know what the AA equivalent is called?0 -
Been with AA and they were decent, but also quite expensive to renew, and AutoAid seems like a great option, just a couple of questions though:
1) Do they have a number you can call (like AA/RAC) to get someone out to help, or do you have to go through and find someone local yourself?
2) When someone comes out, what happens about payment? I'm just thinking if the cost is £100+ and I don't have cash on me, what happens in that scenario? You just get a bill?
Thanks0 -
1. Yes they have a call centre.
2. You are supposed to arrange payment with the breakdown company. A card is the answer to a big bill.0 -

How do you get Roadside, Recover and At Home with AA via Quidco for £34 without including cashback?
I make it £101.0
