Has anyone anything else to say about The Green Insurance Company cover?
At under £19 for my 3 year old car to get me off a motorway and take me where I was going or home then IMO it's very cheap.
How does this one work? I suspect that they just use local breakdown garages.
Do they arrange everything or do you have to get breakdown cover then claim it back?
I don't travel far, about 14 miles a day but occasionally travel say 50 miles so in essence not a big deal if I have to leave the car then get it towed back later.
Also my wifes roadside cover with the AA is nearly up for renewal and the £48 quote (10yr old car) can still be beaten by an online quote so £30 with the GIC sound better if they are any good?0 -
I'm going back to RAC/AA this year - can't wait for my renewal..
I had a response to my Axa breakdown complaint and the local company they contracted the work to lied about everything on the call out. Unbelievable.0 -
Just called AA to cancel renewal as last year's £30 (before cash back) membership came through at £43 at renewal. When after the spiel I said I still wanted to leave he offered me Roadside one year one call out for £15 which I happily accepted as my car is only 3 years old and this is back up plan only. Can't see anything about it on their website so be firm on the phone and see if you get offered this as long as it will meet your needs!0

Haven't read all the thread but I am still waiting for AA cashback after nearly a year. I don't believe it will ever arrive and when I go on the cashback site I see complaints from others about the same thing. If they can't do better than this, I won't use them again, with or without cashback - as far as I'm concerned it's taking money under false pretences (and a load of hassle too, reporting it again and again and getting nowhere).

One of the majors jumped my family membership from about £170 to well over £300!
I checked Which. Britannia Rescue is the top rated breakdown rescue service, above AA and well above RAC.
Of course I contacted Britannia. They configure multiple car somewhat differently, and I think better than the others. The deal I ended up with came in at a price well below my original contract.
Check Which. Talk to Britannia. You may be surprised. And, no, I am not their mother.0 -

Hi,
Can anyone help me get the AA basic deal?
Where is it £32 with £21 cashback?
Looks like £38 with £20 cashback so £18 not £11?
This makes Green Insurance Company the better bet?
Thanks.0 -
Hi,
The AA price is £32 when you select 'vehicle' cover.
Just checked the cashback (via Quidco) which has been reduced to £20.
Hope this helps.

Hi
I’d appreciate some advice please.
My car is 20 years old though quite fast/powerful (Nissan 200SX) and I am the only person who drives it; though my wife is a named driver. I drive less than 1000 miles a year. Most journeys are local; though sometimes I visit relatives thirty miles away. That really is the extent of my driving.
I have been with the AA for several years. This year my renewal premium is £124.80. Looking online; I see the same cover from the AA is available for £80. I called them to see if they could adjust my premium to this amount. I was told in no uncertain terms; that this was for new members only and I could not have membership cover for this price. I then asked the person who I was speaking to not to renew my membership; which they seemed quite happy to go along with. There seemed to be no concern about losing a customer whatsoever.
Therefore; I am now searching for replacement non AA breakdown cover. Considering my low mileage; I don’t want to pay a fortune for cover. I just need break down cover and some form of ‘relay’ to get me home or to my destination should my car break down. I don’t need ‘home start’ as I have a mechanic friend who could readily pop round my house if need be.
What do you suggest?
Thanks in advance.
