I went with Quoteline this year who change the provider each year - this year it's AXA and I've been appalled at the service they contract out to.
Lone woman - call out time was 1hr35 in the dark.
They use an 0844 number, I had over £5 of calls on my mobile from 1 callout and chase up when they didn't arrive.
The breakdown driver who came out didn't have a clue.
Only 2 callouts per problem, 5 per year total - not sure how this compares with other companies. I'm now looking for an alternative supplier...0 -

Don't forget to go through topcashback or quidco for some cashback.0 -
Just had my renewal for AA through. Great I thought i'm now a silver member with 25% discount. I have home Start and Roadside. The price is £87.44. Doesn't sound like a great deal to me!!0

AA told us that as valued "Gold" members, we were eligible for special treatment.
Yeah right!
They wanted to charge £353 to include family cover for 4 (there's only two of us), breakdown cover, plus all sorts of other stuff. Without even asking, they assumend that we had children over 17 (we don't have any) and that we wanted levels of cover that we had not had before.
Even without the unncessary repair cover, going on their website showed the cover we are used to would be £144, as opposed to £212 in the "special treatment" quote.
Husband called them and they argued a bit but offered loads for "free". However, we cancelled (did you hear that Mr AA) after 29 years because we get breakdown cover as part of our bank account now and because we don't like our suppliers treating us like mugs.
Husband has demanded they send confirmation that they will not take any money from our credit card.
Very poor behaviour from a national brand. Auto-renewal should be banned for products like this.0 -

I got my AA renewal saying I was now a gold member after 15yrs. It was for £179.87. I phoned to ask whether that was the best package they could do for me as it was higher than ever. They came back with £130. I said that seemed more that it was for new customers joining and I was then offered £105 for Homestart, Roadside and Relay + the various extra gold bits . I'm not usually much of a haggler and was surprised how much they moved (and then annoyed at how they obviously just pluck the first figure out of the air and add some onto it!).0
