And - if they had the time to pick up on these little clues - what would they do with them, as Custardy has pointed out.
They really don't care - why would they? And even if they did, what difference would it make?
I understand your point, but in the overall scheme of things, it really isn't going to make any difference to the survey outcomes.0 -
Youre probably correct in what you say about it not having an impact upon the survey outcomes...however the company who run the panel do I believe stipulate that panelists should not enter into correspondance with other panelists and should not divulge the details of what they send and receive.
With that in mind this thread is potentially not supported by them and as such they could always ask MSE to close it down
That would be a shame as I do believe that sometimes it has proved easier and quicker to obtain clear responses to questions by asking them on the open forum than by using either email or phone of the official source.
So with that in mind I think its only fair that panelists who post here keep the nature of what they receive and post to a minimum in order to not make their activities known to the wider publicfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

People have been taken off the panel after they became compromised when their local sorting office found out and were fast tracking post for those panalists, so some do try and find out!

Recomendations included
Following a review of Royal Mail’s research processes, PwC has recommended that the firm make test mail less conspicuous; remind staff and panellists about the importance of confidentiality; simplify how problems are reported in the organisation (including centralising the collection of data on panel performance); and codify its relationship with contractors more carefully."Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138

Oh please, this entire thread is a giveaway about the survey (bit of a clue in the topic name) - I've actually worked for Royal Mail (not now obviously) and its not rocket science to figure out that they get their figures for how much first class mail is delivered the next day etc etc by doing some kind of controlled survey. The postman has nothing to do with how fast items are delivered, that is all down to sorters and transporters - why on earth would they care? I'm not happy at people constantly sniping about giving out too much information - this topic has been around for a long time so either RM don't know it exists or they don't care, the title alone is grounds for them to object if they were going to and maybe if their survey company (look, no names!) improved their training procedures and response times to emails then this topic would be unnecessary.2020 Wins:

I think there's a danger of overobsessing about all this - it's a confidential survey, not a state secret.
If my local sorting office want to compile a list of people taking part in the survey, it's very, very easy indeed for them to do.
They don't need to look for clues in this thread. All they have to do is look out for envelopes (two of which arrived today) with a certain West Midland return address on it - you'll know the one. A list of addresses receiving these envelopes will be a complete list of everyone doing the survey locally.
I'm not suggesting for a minute that they keep such lists, but they could, and it would be far easier, more accurate and complete than anything they could pick up from this thread.0 -

Well they did
There was a whole issue over managers in Glasgow learning who and manipulating the service to those on the survey
they even taught other managers in other areas how to do it

How I see it its not about how they get their figures ....but that panelists abide by the guidelines of the panel....and if that is not disclosing what mail you send or receive for being part of it then thats what should happen...
This thread is about the survey and is no doubt read by lots of people if they choose to be interested in it...but you should still respect the wishes of those who monitor what we carry out .
I certainly hope I dont " constantly snipe" at fellow panelists for giving out too much information but
I doubt very much if you would like it if per chance I decided to share here the details of your name and address, on such a public forum if I were given them to send test mail to I do infact have the details of over 100 panelists that ive sent mail to over the past 6 months now ready to be shredded as I'm finishing my time....so in return why should you or anyone else have the need to display who you receive mail from...
Its about being respectful of the terms that you sign up to be part of the panel...
totally off the topic of the current debate...my 1st class standard stamps are red this month to match the large letter ones...seems thats now 3 colours for first class post...and ive still got plenty of stamps leftfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

It's the moderators job to decide whether posts to this forum are acceptable re confidentiality or not of the survey, I find the self appointed forum "police" who try and lay down their own "rules" for the rest of us to follow rather funny:rotfl::rotfl:0
