Anyone else noticed their annoying habit of sending out a SMART which they say you need, and then within a couple of days telling you to send it back again?

Just adds to the general air of chaos!

Yes! To add to what happened here, in late November I had a request to send a SMART back (I posted in this thread about this) but it was nowhere to be found. Next day, I get a SMART as they say my stock is low and, lo and behold, it's the one they want back. I am now in my final weeks and most likely will be leaving permanently too - had enough.

The first time it happened to me, I was panicking, searching everywhere, thinking that I must have lost the SMART :rotfl:now I just think what are they playing at now !

When the happens to me I'm just sure they are trying to increase the number of letters and they are just interested in the data that the smart tracks. :rotfl:

The SMARTS are requested for return because the battery is running low, I don't think they take any account of who has them or whether they have other SMARTS available - I've also had to return SMARTS I've only just received :(

Meanwhile, you are able to continue participating on the Correctly Delivered survey"

That's the best bit anyway, a £5 voucher for barely a minute a day for 12 days. Since I was "rested" a couple of months ago I have had 3 with another due shortly.

I only got lumbered with a large packet at the end of my "active" period and luckly I was near a post Office on the posting day but normally there would be no way I could post them so I will not be rejoining when/if they ask (got enough stamps now to last for many years anyway).

I got accepted today, I used to be on a while ago but then moved house 2 years ago & within a few months of moving was told they no longer needed me in this area. I reapplied & it's taken over 12 months to be accepted again, DH & DD go past a postbox daily so if for whatever reason I can't get out I'll let them post it lol

Oh dear, I've just been accepted to start doing this and I'm regretting it having read this? I thought they were going to be letters every now and then not parcels every day of the week!

How do I get out of this?! :rotfl:
Give it a go. I've got 5 things to send next week, 4 the following week. All in the postbox. Never had a parcel to send and may protest if I do (or fold it flat so it fits in the postbox :)). The payment is poor but while I have time and they don't ask too much I'll gather in some stamps and save the envelopes for ebay.

I agree, after all what have you got to loose ? You can always stop if you find it's too much

Don't waste your breath protesting - all they say is Royal Mail want parcels included and if you can't post them then you'll have to come off the panel.

BTW - when they first started with the parcels they said we'd have to post them every 6 months. Now they say that it'll be much more often as they're just part of the regular posting packs.

Did they ever actually mention this on the 'News Section' or by email (wondered if I missed it whilst 'resting'), or is it something that they have 'conveniently' forgotten to tell us ?

I have a question that I'm hoping a few of the well informed posters here might be able to help with, as I did not receive any instructions on what we should be recording.

The problem I have is that I received a huge wad of leaflets that were not delivered by Royal Mail, but were posted by a private leaflet distribution company. My initial instinct was telling me that I should only record items delivered by RM but then I started wondering why they included a "Sunday" column?

Also, it was by chance that I happened to be in to witness this one-off leaflet drop, otherwise I might have thought that the leaflets came with the rest of the post. I'm guessing that many panellists would not be able to distinguish who delivered what when they return home at the end of the day. This makes me wonder what we're all recording and whether the results "for the nation" are being skewed by private distributors.

So I'm hoping someone can clarify, is it RM only or all unaddressed mail (including leaflets delivered by others)?

    TIA

If you look under News & Features when you log in you will find information on all surveys.

It says "during your time on the Unidentified Mail Measurement you will be measuring receipt of actual (live) mail items delivered by Royal Mail and other companies".

I think there was an earlier discussion about the interpretation of this on this thread.

Personally I only enter the items that arrive with the postman - rightly or wrongly. I think all of this data is suspect as many of us find that previously entered data is showing under incorrect days when you log in later.

There are instructions if you want to contact them to clarify anything to do with the survey.
