Email buddies would be grand
I think my email is in my profile-y thing.
We’re going to start to try within about 3-6 months as this is when his probation on his new job runs out and we know for * definate * he is being kept on. We also have out mortgage agreed in principal but we need 3 months pay slips so we would ideally like to get into our new house before we also start trying. We know it isnt going to happen straight away so once we finally 100% decide to stop using protection we want to know were totally ready.
OH is going to keep working and take the paid paternity his company allows ( I do believe its 13 weeks *gasp * ) but we will have to re-asses the situation once ickle fluff comes along, heh ive even nick-named the baby to be already. Hopefully I don’t HAVE to return to work but I would like to have the choice too rather than bein forced to for desperation of money.Luckily I have a job where I could do it remotely and work from home using emails and maybe popping into the office once a week or so.
Im alone in my office too… I can hear people talking but I cant figure out where its coming from. * taps head and tells voices to stop!*0 -
Sorry to double post......
Nps about aging me 4 yr... i might get cheaper car insurance if you were to lie to them for me
Just a silly question that i never thought to ask at the time and cant really go and google the subject at work....
Is breastfeeding possible after having nipples pierced? will it affect it in any way? Also will genital piercings affect child birth in any way? (obviously they will be removed and the nipple bars removed for feeding)
I never thought to ask these things when i was 15-18 when i was getting all my piercings done0 -
Ancasta,
I've spent the best part of a year at home with my daughter now and I have to say I'm itching to get back to work. I was doing a PhD before I had her, after working in financial services. I love my daughter and love spending time with her but full time stay at home mum is not for me. To be honest (and fair enough if other mums out there find it great all the time - not judging anyone here), it just isn't stimulating enough intellectually after the challenges of work / study.
I take full responsibility for my child and give her my full attention and love but believe that she is coming up to the age where she will also benefit from the social interaction with other children in a learning environment - this however isn't just an excuse to let me off the hook! This isn't a decision I've made lightly and would love to go back part-time but its not financially or work-wise possible where we live at the moment. One big part in my decision however is that my fiancee is a teacher so he has big chunks of the year (14 weeks!!!) where he will be a stay-at-home dad!
All I'm saying is that before I had her - my "conception" of what being a mum is like, was completely different! It's wonderful but you might find you change your mind on a fair few things. I have lots of friends who thought they'd go back to work after 6 months and then couldn't bear to and then others who wanted to stay at home for 3 years and ended up back at work after 9-12 months. I would just leave things as flexible as possible especially in terms of employment (there's a reason you don't have to tell them when you are coming back for quite a while!!).0 -
Re breastfeeding - here's an article on it on the babycentre website:
http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/babybreastfeed/8690.html
It's apparently not a problem as long as you take your jewelry out and don't have any large build up of scar tissue (this can cause the milk ducts to block).
Did you know historically in some societies, certain piercings were thought to make childbirth easier? Particularly the left nostril and some genital piercings! So you might be ahead of the game here LOL.
They do recommend however putting plastic piercings (the flexible ones) in whilst pregnant - particular bellybutton, as they flex while the body changes (might be a good idea for nipples too).
"Some piercings are in danger of tearing when the vaginal opening widens. A Fourchette piercing will probably not survive the birthing process. Horizontal hood and Triangle piercings may stretch uncomfortably and be more likely to tear with the jewelry in place."This is what I found on a body-piercing FAQ but I would seek proper medical advice once you are pregnant as the internet cannot be relied on to be completely accurate!!0 -
Wow thanks for that bluep. Will have a gander when i get a break!0

Hiya Ancasta I have emailed you now to check whether I got it right! I agree, I really want to choose whether or not to go back to work, not HAVE to because we couldnt afford it any other way.
So 3 - 6 months - so we could well be trying at the same time he he - how cool!
As for us, we are renting at the mo as we cant get a mortgage (OH has old bad debt that hasnt rectified itself on his Experian report yet) so wont be moving again for another year. The place we have is lovely though and we could never afford to buy somewhere in the area we are living - far too posh for the likes of us (we sit outside our groundfloor flat on a Sunday as we have no garden and read the News of the World while drinking beer from timblers - classy!)Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Its ok SP, i sat in the middle of a paddling pool on sunday and drank bucks fizz out the bottle (from aldi £1.49 a bottle and VERY tasty)
Will check email now0 -

It was the first thing he checked! the company is *very* generous! They gave him a £700 bonus to say thanks for going to london and sorry for being away for your family.
It also helps all this meals are paid for as well as travel and accomodation. Hes getting £600 worth of train tickets and a VERY expensive suite every night!
I wish i could get a job working for them!!!!0
