And to think stamps are Legal tender could be a very tidy profit buying 1000s now and selling them on after the price rise unfortunately the amount of posting I do a day (£40-£70) I can't afford to buy the stamps now to buffer the price increase and will have to pass the cost on to customers who currently enjoy free postage2012 wins- FB Clean Campaign eyebrow kit, Heinz ketchup Indian Spices, 4x rocky road squares, magners eye-pads, £500 from pepsi, 3x green&black cooking choc bars

Same here! I might organise myself and sort all birthday cards via Funkypigeon (find a 50% code) and have them send them direct and will stock up on a few stamps for xmas cards but again, they will be very few and far between.0 -

I can't see myself posting any Christmas cards this year, a phone call will have to do!
Yes, 5% off (first class only) in Superdrug.0 -
Anyone know if this is an EEC directive as most other European countries charge loads more than UK? Or maybe a deal's already been done with Deutsche Post who would want to make as big a profit as they do in Germany.
The likes of Clintons, etc. must be very concerned about this as it's going to greatly reduce the amount of cards bought.0 -

A first-class stamp will rise in price from 46p to 60p from 30 April after the regulator lifted some price controls on Royal Mail. A second-class stamp will go up from 36p to 50p.
stock up now, what a huge increase.
Edit
Royal Mail said that the cost of posting Christmas cards in 2012 will be the same as last year for consumers on Pension Credit and Employment and Support Allowance or Incapacity Benefit.
They will be able to buy up to three books of 12 stamps - 36 stamps in total - in one purchase from any Post Office branch from 6 November until the last posting dates before Christmas. Individuals must provide evidence that they are in receipt of these benefits.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0 -
