1st class stamps are going up from 46p to 60p on 30th April, and 2nd class from 36p to 50p.
Probably worth buying a few books before then if you use stamps. :money:

Hi OP, may I ask what is your source for this? I was in the PO yesterday asking them about price rises and if they had a new leaflet for charges, the one which usually says "Postal charges from 4th April 20XX", but they looked embarrassed and said they had no idea.
Then this morning I saw on the news that Ofcom will be allowing Royal Mail to set their own prices for Stamps.
If this is the case, and providing that 1st and 2nd class stamps marked as such are still inflation proof and worth the current value, I'm off to buy £100 worth, for cards and ebay sales!!0 -

I saw about the price increase online today - can anyone tell me, if you buy a book of "first" or "second" class stamps, which don't have the value stamped on them, can you continue using them after the price increase?
If so, what is to stop us stocking up with loads before they increase the prices?0 -

Not sure what this means under the "Controls" subtitle in the BBC article on Millionaire's link means,
"Small parcels and large letters weighing up to 2kg sent second class will also eventually have a price cap, but not in 2012-13"
Anyone clarify please?0 -
Is Superdrug or any other outlet selling at a discount atm? Even 5% is better than nothing.

Let us know how you get on. I wouldn't be surprised if the Post Office suspends sales of these sorts of stamps until after the prices go up.0
