2nd class stamps (not Large) are going up by about 38% so they make the best value.

1st class stamps (not Large) are going up by around 30% but can be bought at 5% off from Superdrug so worth getting some of these as well.

The new packet price for packets up to 750g is £2.20 which you will be able to make up with 2 x 1st class plus 2 x 2nd class.

    If you go to http://www.postoffice.co.uk/price-finder
You can pre-pay and print your own for any number of stamps - with a refund available for any unused
That will avoid any potential problems with post offices running out........

This sounds like a good idea! And they don't have a time limit even on recorded?? Would I just stick label on packet and hand into my local PO for them to put on the system?? TIA

sorry still a bit confused. i though all the stamps had to be either 1st or 2nd class. By adding 1st class stamps and 2nd class stamps, what class would the parcel actually be sent as??

i may be mistaken but when you print your postage you have 24 hours to post item.

No you can mix the stamps, they don't have to correspond to the service you are using. Just write 1PK or 2PK in large letters and make sure you get the total value right e.g. £2.20 second class or £2.70 first class if your item is not a Large Letter and is under 750g. I normally also write FIRST CLASS on 1st class packets to make sure its clear.
  • thanks. will be going to my po on monday to stock up
