I will get that graphics card and may even get more than 1GB of RAM - it can't hurt getting a bit more and as you say, the cost is very minimal

Is Crucial the best place to get it from?

no ebuyer would be a better bet (a lot cheaper) just make sure you get desktop ram, ddr2, speed wise doesnt matter than much as it will all run at the lowest speed so if you can get pc2-6400 800mhz go for it otherwise look at pc2-5300 667mhz (which is what you have in at the moment) 1gb is under £11 at ebuyer 2gb at about £20
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

That is a completely different machine to the one you described earlier; the Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo E5905. Your model will likely have PC4200/4300 installed.

Have a look by running CPU-Z and reporting what is under 'Memory' and SPD. It will tell you what is in each slot.

Before buying upgrades, try slimming down the software running at startup - it will probably run better without superantispyware, adaware and mse running, all the toolbars, aol/bt/voyager bloat, java quick starter, ctfmon, replaced with avast free. See speedup sticky. The commit charge figures you posted suggested you still have ram to spare, so an upgrade may make minimal difference, especially after you have tidied up startup

Oops, told you I wasn't much technical.I knew it was a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo but the number I got wrong. It's E5615 rather than an E5905 it seems, sorry.

I've read your thread and very good it is too and done alot of the things it mentions.

To be honest I find most of these programs useless, so I should just get rid?

Get Avast and Malwarebytes and that's it?

try following it completely as well as the other bits and pieces mentioned in posts above, then post another log and commit charge, and test iplayer etc.
