What a heart warming story, really happy for you seven-day-weekend. My OH is adopted, he is 39. He knows his BM first and last name and thats it, he started the " process " a few years back but stopped when his adopted mother passed away. I think now he is just worried about rejection and lots of questions that wont be answered..I would love for him to find his real mother as he has felt very much an outsider all his life, but the " want " to find them has to come from him, not me.

I am another that gets excited whenever this thread is updated!

I am so excited/nervous for you SDW, I am confident your BM will be feeling the same and I doubt you will disappoint, you come across as a very kind, perceptive & considerate person, what else could a mother want? x x

You have handled this with such dignity and compassion. Much more than I ever would I am sure.
You sound like a lovely sensitive person I am sure your BM will be proud of you.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

  • Counting down to our meeting on 25th...... I'm having my hair done in the morning and the meeting is in the afternoon.

Then a few days later my husband and I are going on holiday to a Christian retreat run by some friends of ours.

    Think I'll need it :)

  • Spoken to Aunt today on the phone, was nice to hear her voice. The other lady who is going to be at the meeting is Aunt's husband's brother's daughter, so no blood relation to me.

I'm going to sort some photos out of me as a child to scan for them, and also take both my original birth certificate and adoption certififcate.

    Getting nervous now!
