Just read the whole thread and felt moved to post, fantastic she wanted to be in touch, and the story about your adoptive mother seeing her had me in tears. All the best for your future contact and i'm sure she will be grateful to your adoptive parents for the obvious good work they have done in raising you.

Thanks to everyone for your support, I'm especially glad of it today as my husband is away until next Thursday, my son is at work until late and most of my friends seem to have disppeared, so I am here on my own and it's good to have people to share with, thank God for the internet|!

So glad it's all going well SDW :j
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Just think, you now have 2 new family members, all for the price of a stamp! Who says that the Royal Mail is not good value. :)

    That made me laugh!

Glad it's gone so well for you, SDW - I hope the meeting goes really, really well. :)

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
  • Oh bless you, Im so pleased she got in touch, I too watched long lost family on Thurs'day and sobbed my heart out. Im sure she has never stopped thinking about you. good luck
  • what a lovely, heartwarming story.
    :rotfl:
  • The fact she contacted you so quickly after receiving your letter also shows how delighted she is you got in touch: she didn't need to think twice. I've got goosebumps.
Feeling overwhelmed is totally natural: thank you so much for keeping us posted.

Yes it does, doesn't it, never thought of that.:) I'll get my husband to take me to see her, it's only 50 miles up the M6. He's away this week though and then we are dog-sitting in Oxford for a week, so it will be in May. Will keep this thread updated.

Will post the letter with the photos on Friday, when my husband is back, and suggest a date for the visit.

SDW - Thanks so much for the update! I am so happy that your mum contacted you (must have been the day she recieved the letter - that tells me that she MUST have hoped you would find her).
I am so happy for you actually that I am in danger of drowning my keyboard!
I do hope that you get to meet her - and have a good relationship with her (and your new-found aunt).
    Best wishes
