The fact she contacted you so quickly after receiving your letter also shows how delighted she is you got in touch: she didn't need to think twice. I've got goosebumps.
Feeling overwhelmed is totally natural: thank you so much for keeping us posted.

I was thinking of you earlier in the week when I sobbed my way through Long Lost Families.

What really struck me too was how confident of your love your adoptive mother must have been to tell you about the lady who had been crying. I am so glad that you have had a chance to speak to your birth mother.

:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

What lovely news and good to hear that she has been thinking about you too and is glad to hear from you.

Just think, you now have 2 new family members, all for the price of a stamp! Who says that the Royal Mail is not good value. :)

I'm sure that your next letter will be a lot easier to write (and post!) and I hope that your meeting goes well.

And thanks so much for the update. :):)

I have written to her again and enclosed some photos of, me, my husband, our son and his girlfriend. We will try to get to see her soon if that is what she wants. (ETA, haven't posted it yet because it is the weekend)|.

Glad I did it now, but feeling shaky. Feel a binge-eat coming on!:rotfl:

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
