What I find unbelievable is the 90% economy 7 usage.
Care to post a copy of your bill to show that amount being used at night Vinny?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I don't tell lies.
And, are you still claiming that you have a Utility Warehouse pre payment card beating cashback card? Because until you present a link and/or verifiable details, I'm calling that a lie too.

your claim is unbelievable, and your explanation of the lie just ridiculous. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

You have no credibility

I remind you of when you stated that as a policeman, I "stitched people up." That was a lie. ...... You have also told other lies that I can not be bothered to trawl through for.
You know that you are now concocting lies as some sort of attempt to deflect the issue of your colleague's outrageous claim regarding the uw being the cheapest energy supplier.
I did not make the statement you allege.
I have not told any other lies.
Not getting into a tennis match over this.
When first wanting me to admit to the lie you threatened legal action. Put your money where your mouth is!0 -
Well, it's taken way longer than it should have (we have after all been dealing with someone slippery enough to walk under a snake wearing a top hat without them suspecting owt) but we have proof positive (amazingly enough provided by the man himself) of what I've been accusing Cardew of being all the time - a king-sized hypocrite. He's the archetypical 'do as I say, not as a I do' type as well, which for me has always been the very worst version. The Diane Abbott of the UW thread. I feel strangely vindicated. :beer:Call me Carmine....

I run the washing machine at night during economy 7 hours. I use a netbook pc with a large battery and charge it at night. I don't bother watching tv so don't have one, as those large screens often use 200w or more, use the laptop instead that charges at night. I use gas for cooking during daytime. My electric immersion heater only heats water at night and the tank is large so gives enough hot water for the day since it is well lagged and I have all the pipework lagged in the boiler cupboard. I have the hot water set at 65 degrees C. The hot water is still hot in the evening. I have two showers. One plumbed into the immersion boiler/tank and the other a standard electric shower. We shower early in the morning while the economy 7 night-time rate is still functioning and just shower for a couple of minutes. If I need to shower in the day time then I use the other shower head linked to the immersion heater/tank or just wash. The combination fridge/freezer I have is new and very economic. We don't use hair dryers. Don't have games consoles etc. have high efficiency bulbs throughout house. Don't use a microwave as that damages food anyway. Tend to eat healthy stir fry/ pasta meals from fresh that just require a little cooking on the hob and doesn't leave much washing up. We don't drink coffee or tea so don't use a kettle, instead drink pure fruit juice.
I have checked the exact time when the meter switches over so know exactly when to use certain household appliances. Every step has been made to insulate every part of the house as fully as possible. The economy 7 storage heaters are heated up at night and can be fully closed off and retain their energy for weeks. They are set to open on a low setting during the day once the daytime rate starts. Because the house is so well insulated and retains heat so well I don't need to charge the storage heaters much so they are set to low even in the coldest of days in the winter. The storage heaters are still warm in the evening. I might use the gas fire just to add extra warmth if it gets really cold. Having quality cavity wall insulation fitted made the biggest difference to the warm of the house. It is double glazed and also has very thick quality loft insulation. I actually find the house is cooler in the summer as well because of the insulation and double glazing.
It's really not that difficult to drastically reduce the daytime electricity usage and also total consumption once you try.
The laughable thing is people in developing countries would probably think I am using an excessive amount of energy. Yet I get questioned when my usage is lower because I have put steps to reduce it. Surely people should be questioned when they are excessive users rather than LOW. I have found that it depends much more on how you use it and how well insulated the house is than the size of the house.
Long Term UWDC Customer who became a Distributor because it proved to be good and other people liked it as well.Quentin's Cashback Card?
Let no man, advert or internet site tell me where to get my Utilities0 -
Anyway there's no point in me being on the defensive with Quentin when I am clearly in the right. Quentin, instead of distracting, lets find out who you are with and what cashback card you are currently using and how much you are actually paying. You do enough unjustified attacking. You can trust me that I will only attempt justified attacks on your own spend. Now you can't say fairer than that can you.

You'll be lucky, vinnyph. Quentin is another of the 'do as I say, not as i do' shower. His choices have always been state secrets (a bit like the cashbckc card Cardew uses/pretends to use). All we know of him is he very probably rate tarts for cashback purposes (something that led his best buddy on here, Cardew into labelling him a parasite in another thread, lol) and he definitely bums the Post office Phone Service to death. Not forgetting his bumming of Quidco above all other cashback sites until myself and poster BristolLeedsfan call him on that one). Good luck is what I'm trying to say.Call me Carmine....
