It seems KippenNoedel doesn't like UWDC distributors earning money for effort they put in.
You really should read what I say before making a gross and misleading statement
If he's signing friends up to UWs' expensive energy products yes he is immoral but we don't know who he is actually signing up do we ?

If he's signing up non-friends who approach him it's not his job to tell him that there are cheaper companies. Just the same as it's not the job of the person on the till at Sainsburys to tell you Asda are cheaper for those beans we all love.
I'm not going as far as you in giving thanks but yes, his tenacity has to be admired.

I do so hope that you, Vinny, only sign up people that are on single fuel, standard tariff basis. At least then you will most likely be saving them something. I know there are genuine salespeople out there, I fully appreciate it's not your job to recommend the cheapest company in the world. It's just my own perspective has been tarnished by the ones I have met, grubby, self serving gimmees.

lol, is that a real word. it is when you have been drinking aftershocks

    Finally?

You are always saying that people should read previous posts! My consumption has be posted in here before.

Re OVO, I said I read on MSE that they had 10 employees and operated out of a barn near Cirencester.

For all I know they might have eleven employees;)

We saw more of what you were on. Carmine pointed out you hadn't detailed everything and I said at least you gave more information and so should be thanked.

With the 10 customers I didn't discredit what you said but simply stated it as exactly what you stated.

Oh come on, he's a UW salesman, why should reading something stop him from making gross and misleading statements? ;)

You really should read what I say before making a gross and misleading statement.

It was this particular statement that seems to suggest you don't think UWDC Distributors should earn money for their efforts in particular. Sorry to correct you.
It's just my own perspective has been tarnished by the ones I have met, grubby, self serving gimmees.

Not a criticism of you being a landlord because I wasn't being judgemental. How you earn money is up to you, no matter how ruthless. If you see it that way then that's for you to settle with your own conscience. However, who gave you the authority to pass judgement on others.

I always make sure my customers are happy with what they have, the quality of service they have and make sure they get it for a good price. I keep in contact with them regularly to make sure they get an excellent service.

Do you regularly check to make sure that your tenants are not paying too much or that the house they live in is of the highest quality?

Still cannot see how you can equate UWDC as being expensive. All I have seen so far are mere statements from you. You have to see that I have been involved with UWDC for a long time and know it in detail. I can see when people are just making thing up or not.

Now because you have given more information I presume you are serious about evaluating UWDC. No criticism intended but with your high heating bill, have you ever thought of fitting quality insulation throughout your house. I presume it is an old house because I have a customer who owns a 9 bedroom house who uses less because it was built in the last few years to high efficiency standards. Using high efficiency electrical goods can make a big difference as well. Also, tell the kids to turn the lights out when they don't need them or use high efficiency bulbs. Regardless of which company you chose to be with, surely you could save a packet in the long run just by economising where possible. UWDC economy 7 rates are very good even comparing their rates without discounts against other companies rates with. You could run the washing machine, dishwasher at night, as well as fit economy 7 radiators that are more efficient than the most efficient condensing combi boiler and have much lower maintenance costs. Combi boilers need regular cleaning else their efficiency can fall as low as 50% and costs a lot to call out a qualified engineer. An economy 7 storage heater has efficiency of nearly 100%. I use UWDC economy 7 at home and my own energy bill is much cheaper than yours but my usage is much lower than yours, but I have done that through efficiency though. The heating engineers probably like people installing combi boilers though.

I get all those many UWDC discounts on top as well.

With repect VinnyPH I really don't need advice from you on how to save energy.

I am a chartered electrical engineer as you acknowledged before - although you thought that means I am an electrician - so I am a lot better qualified than you to know about electrical consumption etc.

Whilst it is a large house it is not old - I had it built 21 years ago and it has excellent insulation.

I cannot think of many large houses with my gas consumption using a combi! They don't cope with high Hot Water demand and I have lots of radiators.

To advise someone with gas CH to even consider getting Economy 7 storage heating is plain stupid and would not inspire me with confidence!!

Now in the very certain knowledge that I use what I stated earlier and do not need nugatory advice, let us get to the point.

The cheapest tariff for my consumption available today is £1,578. UW would charge £2,199. That is £621 extra or 39.35% more expensive.

    Do you agree?

Actually, if qualification is the point. I am a qualified physicist, electronics engineer, mortgage consultant and financial advisor but those are just qualifications. I have set up businesses in past including in the petrochemical industry. I have designed engine test facilities measuring engine power and efficiency. I know quite an amount on the subject of efficiency. I attempted the set up of a business a number of years ago in regards to alternative energy sources but need the funding. I have studied on such matters for years. The reason I started UWDC was in order to get enough capital together to start this other business together with a secure income. With the number of people expected to be in the world in a few years time and the exponentially increasing energy requirements, we need to address this matter and not waste energy.

It doesn't take a chartered electrical engineer to work it out though. More efficiency means lower usage, which also means a lower bill. My bill at the end of the day is much lower than yours and I am using UWDC economy 7. I pay a lot less than the £1578 you quote as being the cheapest you can find.

There were a number of changes made to housing construction about ten years ago. Do you have cavity wall insulation, double grazing, 12 inch loft insulation or more.

A friend of mine has 6 kids living at home but his electricity usage is nearly half yours and so is his gas.

Not being picky because its not like me to be picky but my bill is smaller than yours. Not bragging either because people who brag usually brag about something being bigger than not smaller than.

Something tells me it seems like you still got a bee in your bonnet Chris. Well you know what they say don't you Chris. It begins with an L and ends with an r. Can you guess what it is.

Remember tomorrow is Sunday and you should give thanks to the one who created you. As a result I won't be signing any customers tomorrow so there will be less for you to get worked up about. Why don't you see a priest and let him hear all your issues. Live in peace. Stay mellow brother Chris.

With all respect Vinny I'm not the one that just "advised" someone with gas central heating using 36,000kwh per year to get economy 7 storage heaters fitted.

Thats just plain ludicrous and typical of the type of tripe a UW salesman would come out with to try and baffle a prospective customer. Something beginning with L and ending with R...

    Liar perhaps?

    Do you have double grazing,
Do you need a HORSE and an A55 for double grazing or will two sheep suffice ?

on your other ridiculous points, eg:- what on earth use is comparing your consumption with any other persons when you have no clue as to the size/type of property ??

Not being picky but you actually got that bit wrong as well Chris. Something beginning with L and ending in r was actually Loser. No brownie points for you today then, alas poor Chris.

You could always pray for better luck next week. Tell you what if it makes you feel better I will pray for you as well.

Actually, look at it this way. A gas boiler costs thousands to replace. The regular maintenance of a boiler to keep it efficient costs thousands over the years. A decent economy 7 storage heater system is cheaper to install than gas central heating and maintenance is low.

The gas unit price used to be 1.138p + vat per unit with UW a few years ago, whereas the economy 7 electricity unit price was 2.0p + vat. Now it is 3.5p for economy 7 electricity and 3.264p for gas in my region. So it used to make sense to be on a boiler but because of the extra efficiency of economy 7 storage heaters and low maintenance costs I think the advantage is now with economy 7. People are surprised when they see how low my energy bill is. When cardews gas boiler eventually packs in and needs replacing, that might be a time to swap. It's easier to fit economy 7 storage heaters than gas radiators as well. Being a chartered electrical engineer he should know that. In fact with the relevant qualification he could fit it himself and save hundreds, it would just need to be checked by someone.

Again just wondering where your experience has come from to evaluate this idea as ludicrous without first evaluating it?

The idea was to get a cheaper bill. In the long run all what I have proposed would reduce the bill. I should know because it's what I have currently and it costs a lot less.

People seem to think that economy 7 storage heaters are on all night. A thermostat controls when to cut off power when they get to a set temperature. So at night I just close them off and the heat is retained for weeks if the the vents are completely closed. When heat is needed in the day the vents automatically open for each room. I have separate control for each storage heater as well so if one room has had a window open I can quickly heat that room by just opening the vent. I don't have to heat the whole house in order to do so like with gas central heating. They hardly need maintenance and no risk of a gas leak in the boiler causing it to blow up or the pilot light going out and gassing us or carbon monoxide if the flew gets blocked.

However it just seems you are again shunning an idea because it was put up by me without actually working it out properly.

Anyway its Sunday now and that means its time for god.
