I'm not going as far as you in giving thanks but yes, his tenacity has to be admired.

I do so hope that you, Vinny, only sign up people that are on single fuel, standard tariff basis. At least then you will most likely be saving them something. I know there are genuine salespeople out there, I fully appreciate it's not your job to recommend the cheapest company in the world. It's just my own perspective has been tarnished by the ones I have met, grubby, self serving gimmees.

lol, is that a real word. it is when you have been drinking aftershocks

Not really much to boast about is it?

Ovo only started trading a few months ago and from what I've heard they will have close to 1,000,000 customers by the new year.

They dont pay for advertising either, they do however have cheap prices for gas and electricity, something UW still havent got their head around despite being in the business for years.

lol, Plushchris, that is a reposte I wish I had thought of :hello:

& at a guess they have less than 30,000 employees & probably less than 100 salespeople.

Not quite sure what your point is.
All of the big 6 have more than a million customers - possible even a million happy ones (although I think most people's happiness is unrelated to their energy supplier)

1m customers would mean that the company more than doubles it's customer base in the 'next few years'. Such explosive growth probably wouldn't be a good thing for the company or the customers - better to continue the organic growth they have now - and continue with their new 'innovations' like compulsory training for salesmen.

Indeed I read somewhere they have 10 employees.

It really is not surprising that OVO's prices are £hundreds cheaper than UW when the latter have 32,000+ salesmen to pay commission as well as 'Charles' and all his staff.

It never ceases to amaze me that UW salesmen on this forum crow about the commission they can receive, the discounts customers can get for recruiting 'like minded people'( a much nicer term than 'gullibles'!!) and large profits that are reflected in the share price. A £22.5 million profit on a turnover of £278.3 million last year so Google tells me!

No other Utility company comes close to generating that ratio of profit - which is not surprising as their prices are so much lower than UW. Won't stop them slagging off BG etc for profiteering!!

I guess you are all still ignoring the many discounts with UWDC as you usually do. Its strange that you all seem to include other companies discounts but not UWDC. Its the very reason one of those new customers joined. He had been swapping from one company to another for years to get a discount, but stopped swapping because of problems and also that within a few months the discount he signed for reduced. After all it was their choice, I allowed them to work it out for themselves.

When it comes to the current high growth rate, UWDC has already invested heavily for the future in UK based Customer Service in order to continue to allow for the high rates of growth. It moved to a much bigger premises in order to do this and recruited more staff, a reason why people get straight through. There is already an excess of UWDC Customer Service people who live and work in the UK. A single point of contact for the many award winning services instead of having to ring abroad for support and of course all on a single integrated billing system that works. Someone might change company because they have a problem or they see a headline rate on an advert. However, people stay with a company because of quality and value, UWDC has both.

It has to be said that the big 6 already had over a million customers, but only because they took over from the regional nationalised energy industry that we had before not because they have grown from nothing.

If you check through the remuneration for the directors on the UWDC site, you will find that this is far less than for the big 6 energy companies. In fact it only went through £500,000 recently, and that's the total for all directors involved. Money going to the 32,000+ distributors (actually 34,000) which recently went through £10million, I see as a positive as I would prefer the money going to the many instead of to the few, its fairer. The high profitability in UWDC is because it runs so efficiently, does not waste money on advertising and money isn't being wasted by the the directors, unlike the big 6. Just take a look at the costs involved in those companies. Instead the money is being reinvested back into the company to ensure it's sustained growth. I like the fact that some distributors earn more than the CEO Charles Wigoder, it's more ethical and means everyone has a fair chance of gaining a good pension like income and not having to struggle when they retire. I really like the fact I help people gain an extra income. If OVO only has a few people working there how will they support their customers and also all that profit going to just a few people. Doesn't sound that fair to me and a recipe for future problems.

In fact I can see that what seems to be important for you all is already satisfied in UWDC if you could only refrain from being so bigoted and could look past the end of your own nose you might see that.

Nice try lads but when your facts are incorrect your arguments become futile.

In yer face. In yer face.

Again its little me against all you self professed experts. By virtue of UWDC I win again. I almost forgot, another customer decided to go for UWDC today through me as well just to rub salt into your open wounds. My 73 year old distributor friend in my team was proud to get 3 customers last week. That will add to his pension he didn't get from working 20 years in the same company before.

Let's leave the OVO v UW discussion another 12 months and see where the 2 companies are, shall we? ;) Far too early to be having this discussion. You only have to look at what almost happened to an already established, publicly-listed and debt free company like UW when they tried to 'go it alone' in the energy market to realise that it's always best to err on the side of caution when choosing a non-Big 6 energy supplier.

I would be interested to see if Rupert joins OVO when his BG fixed deal ends April next year. I wouldn't bet on him leaving his beloved supplier, personally.

10 employees but Plushchris reckons they will have 1,000,000 customers by the New Year??? Yeah, pull the other one, lol. Some real garbage posted by the AUWF iin this thread...

Real grown up attitude you got there Vinny

What makes you think you are such an expert anyway, the fact you paid £200 to UW to become a distributer?

It seems KippenNoedel doesn't like UWDC distributors earning money for effort they put in. When asked by Maz recently, however, he has admitted that he doesn't have a normal job as such. He is a landlord and profits from the earnings of his tenants efforts in their jobs.

My point here is why does he have such an issue with UWDC distributors putting effort into their business in order to gain financial security when he himself is simply profiting from other peoples efforts. It seems he has one rule for himself and another UWDC Distributors.

I thought I would just add at the end because I can foretell his thinking, it's because I can understand someone else perspective. Far from being expensive the package of services and the many discounts mean UWDC customers in many cases get the cheapest in the country for them. I wonder if he worries unduly when he decides to put the rent up if he is providing the absolute cheapest rent in the country. If he doesn't there is a word that springs to mind.
