I read recently that distributors are told in training that UW is unlikely to be the cheapest option for the majority of people, but that they should sell the simplicity of the single bill etc and gloss over the price. Can any distributor confirm if this is correct?

No it's not correct I have attended the latest training again with last 2 weeks when I took 2 distributors with me. You barking up the wrong tree.

Am I allowed the short answer or will I have to prove it. If you have also read about all the UWDC discounts then you would realise why what you say is incorrect.

What you have to also understand is that it is not difficult to get customers, people quickly see for themselves why UWDC is good. I certainly don't enjoy pressuring someone into something and neither do other people in UWDC. I would not do it if I had to pressure someone. UWDC is not struggling to find customers but instead expanding very quickly. The customers stay as well. It is a lot more professionally run than you seem to think by your suggestion. I simply let the customer decide what they want to do because that is how I would want to be treated myself.

    Yes I am!

My gas and Electricity is £800 less than I would pay with UW.

My Broadband and phone deal with BT is much better than the UW offering - far more facilities:

    Wireless router

    Comprehensive security package included

    second hub phone

Wi-Fi minutes in most locations in UK

    All calls free 24/7

    caller ID

    Callminder

large discounts as I have been a loyal customer.

    Any other questions?

You haven't mentioned your monthly download allowance

    International calls?

    Minimum contract length?

    Monthly cost?

Oh, and is your gas/electric tariff still available to sign up to now?

  • I've just carried out a comparison on uSwitch for my own usage, swapping to UW Dual Fuel High User Option would cost me an extra £1908.09 more than the current cheapest tariff available.

To be fair, though, as I've previously suggested, your claims should be taken with a whole mine of salt.

I thought I would leave Cardew to you Carmine, but at least I managed to get some sort of response to your challenge. Hard work to but at least there is a response. In a strange way I feel justified.

  • LOL. It's actually the details that Cardew leaves out of his posts that are generally the most revealing, his ommissions in his BT BB deal post being a perfect example of this. I'd lump him in with Kippen in the 'whole mine of salt' category...

I thought he possibly sounded a bit like one of those BT adverts on TV. While the other providers had a wireless router for years BT called it a new thing, a HUB with a phone. Wonder if with the sound quality on his hub phone can understand BT customer support when he rings india. When he puts the phone back on the hub late at night after finally getting through to the right department in BT does he say 'its good to talk'. Has he got an -ology I wonder, he'll need one to work out how to get the right department.

  • Oh dear God, don't remind me about those BT Indian call centres :eek: One of the (several) things I don't miss about leaving BT. EVERY query seemed to take at least 3 times longer to resolve than it should  Awful. I'll tell you this - if the roles were reversed and it was UW that had the Indian call centre and BT that had the guaranteed UK-based centre you just know that Cardew would be making a real issue of this. Like I say, it's the details he misses out that are the most revealing.

The record sounds scratched because it has to be played a lot. If people didn't keep coming out with the same old drivel and concocted assumptions I wouldn't have to correct you all. So where do you get your expert knowledge from then Inspector Clouseau. You trying to tell me again you know more than me about UWDC or the Honorary Charles Wigoder or the other directors of UWDC. The questions have already been answered months ago and recently a number of times or did you not see it, or chose to ignore it. All it is, is that you simply won't back down on this even though I know you are wrong. You won't back down because it will show you up.

I bounce it back to you. I challenge you that you don't really know what you are talking about.

    Ok Vinny

As you seem unable to answer the questions can you just point me to the posts that were made "months ago" that say where the Consumer focus accredititation logo is on the UW website?

I also dont remember someone answering a a question I asked at 23.20 last night months ago either, unless they are a timelord or something.

What have I concocted Vinny? What was untrue in that post I made last night?

You wont answer because it makes you look bad, I've not made anything up in the slightest, I stated facts, would you care to tell me which of these are untrue?

You say you are helpful to anyone wanting to join UW, do you tell them to sign up via Energylinx so they can get that £34 cashback? I dont remember that question being answered months ago either, maybe you can show me that post too...

If UW energy is really 30% higher than the cheapest like you say, then be using his card he is then getting the equivalent of the cheapest, as he gets c. 30% off his bill. The effort he puts in to get there is up to him, but using a different card at the supermarket doesn't seem too taxing to me.

How is it so hard to spot the flaw. Your brother is being a busy fool!

Instead of getting the cheapest energy by signing up to it direct, then having all the cashback on his card to do what he likes with, you are making him just give it to the uw!

Vinny claims to just be helpful when getting gullible friends to sign up to uw.

Yet has not commented on the latest underhand techniques the reps are being trained to use when "helping" their friends:

The reps are getting new training on how to get round your friends' objections to signing up. In particular a survey has shown the main objections are:

    1) How much are you going to save me?

To get round this they are told to print off the savings calculator from the uw website for their friend's address. (This amazing calculator shows me I can save £880 (excluding membership fee!) if I join and have a card, or £630 if I decline the card!). They are told to take the print out to their friend and he can't argue you won't save him any money! (Ethical +++ or maybe just an out and out con????)

    2) We won't be able to get discount because we don't use Sainsbury's.

The reps are now told not to even mention having to shop at Sainsburys, but to ask "how much do you spend on food and fuel"? Then say to their friend "just carry on with your normal shopping and you can get 5% off your bills". (Note they haven't let on to their friend they need to actually use Sainsburys!)

And vinny sees this as ethical behaviour between friends!

Then they put it on the net for all to hear (they must be so proud of their ethics):
