Yes sadly my BG tariff does finish on April 30 2010.

I haven't actually switched every few months, I will have been on this tariff for four and a half years.

At the moment I pay over £800 a year less on my tariff than I would if I were silly enough to have UW as my gas and electricity supplier.

If my tariff ended today and I had to switch to another tariff, the cheapest tariff for my consumption and area is £621 less than the UW tariff.

    Mmmm decisions, decisions!!

    What would be your advice?

You must admit the tariff you are on is quite a rarity. It would be quite interesting to see exactly what usage you have. In all the years I have been doing UWDC the figure seems a lot higher, exaggerated in fact. However, we still don't know your actual tariff and usage and region. I would need those to evaluate it. However, experience tells me that you wouldn't be interested anyway. If you give full information about exactly what you are on we know you are serious and not just wasting time.

10 employees but Plushchris reckons they will have 1,000,000 customers by the New Year??? Yeah, pull the other one, lol. Some real garbage posted by the AUWF iin this thread...

A, I never said they have 10 employees thats rubbish.

B, 1,000,000 customers by the new year, not my reckoning, that come from Stephen Fitzpatrick (Director of Ovo) when I met him last month.

Vinny has predicited the 1,000,000 figure himself.

Pay attention, like you keep saying, these questions have been repeated over and over again on this thread in the past.

The only difference is Cardew has actually answered them.

I never said you did say that they said that they had 10 customers. It was cardew who said that they had 10 customers. Keep up lad.

Actually there have been a number of market analysts who expect the continued growth in UWDC to well, continue. The directors of UWDC have continuing plans for growth in excess of 1,000,000 customers. It seems that annoys you. I myself have no issue with UWDC gaining 1,000,000 customers. I see you have an issue else you wouldn't keep on.

Anyone would think you were merely getting desperate to find something wrong. However, it does seem you keep losing Plushchris, and you don't like it. Else you would have backed down long ago instead of just resorting to making things up.

Are you desperate to win a point on me. It shows you must think highly of me if you waste all this effort just to win a point. The thing is, I have already won today and that was when I signed that customer. What I would advise is that you shouldn't get so wound up so easily. Have a little respect for yourself. Just concede to the winner. I am not even trying to win points you see. They do say however, if you can't beat em join em. You could always defect from the AUWF. The Russian's defected eventually and there are 140 million of those I heard. The grass is grassier and the sun is sunnier from where I sit

    A rarity?

I believe that there were something like 2 million BG customers elected for this tariff in 2005. (don't hold me to that exact figure but it certainly had a huge take up before it was withdrawn)

    No secret about my consumption.

7,500kWh electricity, 36,000kWh gas in the Midlands -

I also have an annex with separate gas and electricity supply; the above does not include the very small consumption for this building.

According to energyhelpline the cheapest tariff today would be First Utility at £1,578 and the cheapest UW tariff would be their High user(no surprise there) at £2,199 so UW are £621 more expensive. That is 39.35% more expensive.

I will accept as a high user that 39.35% is a little higher than for most customers - UW being 30% more expensive would be typical!!

So to use your phrase, please "evaluate" and advise!!!

I did mention to carmine after carmine pointed out that cardew didn't give full information that cardew should be commended for finally giving at least some information. Give credit where credit is due.

Vinny you are the one that keeps on about point scoring, even jeering "loooser loooser"

You even now say you've "won" then you ask me if I'm desperate to win a point on you.

You havent won anything, there was never anything to win.

    Sad, very sad

Again, can you point me to what I've "made up"?

    Finally?

You are always saying that people should read previous posts! My consumption has be posted in here before.

Re OVO, I said I read on MSE that they had 10 employees and operated out of a barn near Cirencester.

For all I know they might have eleven employees;)

Now because you have given more information I presume you are serious about evaluating UWDC. No criticism intended but with your high heating bill, have you ever thought of fitting quality insulation throughout your house. I presume it is an old house because I have a customer who owns a 9 bedroom house who uses less because it was built in the last few years to high efficiency standards. Using high efficiency electrical goods can make a big difference as well. Also, tell the kids to turn the lights out when they don't need them or use high efficiency bulbs. Regardless of which company you chose to be with, surely you could save a packet in the long run just by economising where possible. UWDC economy 7 rates are very good even comparing their rates without discounts against other companies rates with. You could run the washing machine, dishwasher at night, as well as fit economy 7 radiators that are more efficient than the most efficient condensing combi boiler and have much lower maintenance costs. Combi boilers need regular cleaning else their efficiency can fall as low as 50% and costs a lot to call out a qualified engineer. An economy 7 storage heater has efficiency of nearly 100%. I use UWDC economy 7 at home and my own energy bill is much cheaper than yours but my usage is much lower than yours, but I have done that through efficiency though. The heating engineers probably like people installing combi boilers though.

I get all those many UWDC discounts on top as well.
