£6,000 per annum on food/fuel for a family of 4 (but often 6 as I've previously explained) is surely by no means surprising, especially given the fact that there are 3 cars in the household
That's effectively the 'base' figure each month, the rest could be classed as incidentals, I suppose. The reason why these retailers are keen to sign up for these schemes is due to marketing - if I wish to buy an electrical item, for instance, Ii will check Argos, Comet etc first but will only buy if it's a good deal, not for the sake of the cashback. I'm sure they would rather give me a 5% sweetener rather than me go elsewhere.
I would imagine the cashback card would become an absolute no-brainer for many more people if they added Asda and Tesco to it but I'm suspecting Sainsburys have only agreed to it if they are the exclusive supermarket? Time will tell, but 5% cashback is an extraordinary sum for a supermarket to pay pay out on groceries and petrol - not much more than gross profit?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -

I use the only average figures available for energy consumption, the same ones EVERY energy company are required to use for general comparisons. Mean Average 3,300kwh el 20,500kwh gas.
For disposable income I use Modal Averages as they are much fairer. Disposable income is everything left after taxes which can be used to pay for whatever the recipient wishes to spend it upon.
& it was you that stated half would be above and half below
anyway lets not argue about this0 -

Are you having a dig at Swanjon?

I believe where relevant, Swanjon makes his affiliation with his employer known. If you believe he has transgressed forum rules, I suggest you contact a MSE moderator.
I should rephrase my last post. I wish UW reps were as upfront as Swanjon in their affiliation with their respective employer.0 -
A quick reminder to the regulars on here that it's possible to disagree without getting personal or being rude to/about each other.
Thanks!
