No remorse over the exposure of your deceitful post attempting to tell us here you
have a cashback card that is better than the Utility Warehouse pre payment card?

You tried dragging this up the other day and, the full "story" came out a couple of hundred (or more) pages ago. Anybody that interested just has to trawl through this thread.

I only used that figure because Carmine gets £500 back on his card.

as for averages, its all done to what type of average you use 65% of people don't even have a disposable income of £6000pa (Office of National Statistics)
As Carmine pointed out, his shopping is not on top of his regular living expenses, it is part of his regular spend. We save money on our utilities by spending on food and other items that we would normally buy, not by purchasing "luxuries" as you appear to be implying. I certainly have not got £6,000 per year of disposable income after the mortgage and other regular bills are paid and I save money by being a Utility Warehouse customer.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

I have sadly come to the conclusion that Carmine is probably one of the saleforce

Oh, he's already admitted it once - if a UW customer persuades someone else to sign up, they get a discount on their bill (1% per service I think).
You'll note that Carmine never includes this 'discount' in his figures though.

No, I didn't "drag" it up. You brought this on yourself!

On 29/9/09 you posted a glowing report on the uw cs, referring to them always as being "very helpful" when you have contacted them.

I then alerted readers to the hypocrisy of this, referring to your previous discussion where you talked of having had "some" atrocious service from them! (You now try to get us to believe that was just a single episode - but were that true, why post about it at all?)

  • As Quentin aint coming up with the deatils, I've had a trawl through the net to see if there's something comparable to the UW card. Not easy as most of the ones that claim to offer 'cashback' are really only through online affiliate links like the cashback sites use, not cash back on card spend in-store. There is one that IIRC the ridiculous bungler dacouch (THAT was a funny couple of days on here, lol) uses, cashplus.

    http://www.cashplusdeluxe.co.uk/default.aspx

If this is the card Quentin has been banging on about, I can understand his total reluctance to provide details.

Real cashback – Use the card for all your everyday spending, then watch as the rewards quickly add up. For example, you’ll get £10 back for the first £1,000 you spend and £5 for every further £1,000

Now then, I'm assuming this card doesn't restrict you to the shops that the UW card does, which is a plus point, but if I spent my £10,000 on this card I would receive £55 cashback. As opposed to £500 off my UW bill. Hmmmm...where do I sign up? :p

The £309 Samsung 32" LCD TV is back. 2% cashback from your favourite cashback site and £15.50 off your UW bill if you flash the UW plastic. £313 delivered. A net £290-ish if you use the Uw card. Billy bargain! :j

    Billy bargain!
I'm sure you are right but I still prefer to pay a bit extra for a Panasonic television when I require one. I got our 32" off eBay several years back and it's been excellent. I asked the seller if I could pick it up and when I got there, it was an actual shop selling off "last season's model."

  • Agreed about Panny TVs, Nigel, but you pays yer money etc. Actually, Richer Sounds are selling the Sammy for £330 with a 5 year warranty included so probably not the billy bargain I thought.

    Whoosh !!

An average has roughly half above and half below. As the average is probably skewed by some very high usages (More than very low ones, after all you can't go below zero usage), chances are the average will have more people below it than above it.

Food/fuel does not come from disposable income.

I am confused by your posts on the cashback card.

Are you saying £6k is a reasonable spend, or too low, or too high?

Carmine states he gets back £500pa which will entail an annual spend of between £10,000 and £11,000.
