As you are a uw rep, we wouldn't expect you to see anything at all wrong with uw reps using this forum to spam uw, and tell us the customer services are great when in private they bemoan the "atrocious service" dished out!

Equally from past experience, we'd expect you to "ROTFL", rather than express any concern at how this sort of thing reflects on all reps as well as the reputation of uw!

There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"

The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.

"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.

Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.

When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"

But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.

Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"

But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.

At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.

"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"

An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.

"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!"

Thanks for reminding us Andrea ;-)

Although no rep admonished Rael (now a rep) recently for threatening to attack Cardew. Mm, a warped sense of values are prevalent amongst one or two around here.
  • Can the material Quentin refers to be accessed by any member of the public, or is it on a private site on which a password is required?

    It's a password-protected site...isn't it Quentin?

It isn't, uw rep NigeWick didn't hide his uw criticism behind passwords! But what difference if he had?

Why should MSE provide uw reps a platform to post their (untrue) glowing experiences of their company when they are actually untrue?

HeHe...and to think I get accused of diversion. Like everybody keeps stating, this is a money saving site. There is a demographic that will pay less for their utilities and/or phone/bb/calls with UW if they are prepared to accept 'The Challenge' (tm). Fact. All this talk of how it's sold/what someone said/who was never short of nylons in the war  etc is superfluous. I mistrust the whole industry and dislike the tactics and CS of most of the Big 6 companies I have used (all of them at some point). Hasn't stopped me using them. That's because I long ago accepted the perfect private company just doesn't exist, everyone needs heat and light so I make the best of a bad job (this entails paying as little as possible for their products).

I'm sure there are some less than savoury characters selling UW and the company are by no means perfect*. In these respects, are they unique in the industry? Not even Quentin could answer in the affirmative on that one. We have had thread after thread on these forums complaining about the underhand tactics of the Big 6s door step [STRIKE]liars[/STRIKE] sellers. Has that stopped any of the AUWF using these companies? No. Why not? Because they are better off financially using that company. Yes? Of course. Fine by me. So, get real, all this pious nonsense surely fools no-one. All this is just a bit like playground whispers and tale-telling. As this is primarily a money saving site wouldn't it be an idea to focus on whether UW offers people a viable economical alternative or not? I (and AFAICT all the UW reps on here have always accepted it isn't for everybody but can, in the right circumstances, be a bit of a goer (ooerr).

    Just a (radical, apparently) thought.

    That really takes the biscuit.

You have been by far and away the biggest critic of gas and electricity companies on this forum. Some of your criticisms of both pricing and company procedures are well justified, others are just rants.

However on this particular thread your input has been the most disgracefully biased praise of all things UW. Not an ounce of objectivity shown and not a shred of credibility retained.
  • As per usual, you have read only the parts that rile you and ignored all the others. Really odd behaviour. I really think you aren't worth even pressing any more keyboard keys to reply to. An incredibly angry person for reasons I don't know and, frankly, have no interest in knowing.

In short, you aint worth the bother. Go and take out your frustrations on someone else...

There may be more to this than meets the eye.

Over at the uw reps forum they discuss, (and are scathing), about MSE, (as a whole, not just this thread).

As long ago as May, "Carmine" was referred to there by keggs as "doing" the replies for the reps in this thread, and the others urged not to get involved in posting on this thread!
